Donna clapped her hands together. "Now everyone take a seat and listen very well because I'm going to tell you what the rules are and how the games work only once. This is the only way for you to find out so listen well. Questions after."

The room didn't respond but happily Donna just shrugged it off and ignored it. She continued.

"First of all, as I hope you know you will be released into the 'Labyrinth' when we're done here, right?" Donna said. Nobody answered so she continued.

The fact that she used the word 'released' made the empty pit in Hyunjin's stomach fill itself with hatred and anger. Like they were some animal they were doing a test on.

"In the Labyrinth are a lot of corridors and hallways, in those corridors and hallways are a lot of doors. Before you'll be released in those you'll get the chance to grab a backpack full of supplies, but it can be anything that's in there." She smiled mischievously. "It's always something useful but not always something you want or need. And you need to be fast, because there aren't enough backpacks for everyone.

"However, those doors," Donna continued. "behind those doors can, yet again, be anything. There are thousands, if not millions of doors, and behind every one is a surprise." She giggled excitedly, though it only made Hyunjin's anger boil up further.

A murmur of whispers and sobs filled the room. Some just stared into the nothingness in front of them, and some were already passed out, and some were crying. Barely anyone was ok. Actually, no one was.

Hyunjin was starting to feel sick. With every word this woman spoke Hyunjin felt more nauseous.
He just stared at the woman, carefully listening to her. I mean, it was for the sake of his own life, and he wasn't just going to let that go. He was going to live, and he was going to return to Felix. He was going to see his beloved again.

Donna continued when the room had fallen silent again. "Every single day there will be chosen a target. You all have an indestructible bracelet, which will show a hologram of the target's face at the exact same time every day." She stopped, watching as everyone checked their wrists for the bracelet.

Hyunjin looked at his left wrist and rolled up his sleeve slightly, to find it empty. He did the same with his right and indeed saw a black metal bracelet. Though it looked more like glass than anything.

For no reason at all he dug his finger under the metal. It was surprisingly cold despite it having been stuck between his wrist and the body suit for a while. He tried to get the bracelet off, to no avail.

He let his arm drop again and looked up to listen to Donna further. Again, he hated the woman already to the deplete darkest depths of his soul, but it was his life they were talking about.

"That's why I recommend to keep your mask on as much as possible, because there is a number on your back and some people might be able to associate your number with your face once they see it." She smiled ominously. The contestants who had taken off their mask immediately put it on again. Hyunjin was grateful at his body for being to weak to take it off previously.

"The point of the target is pretty easy. The other contestants are supposed to kill it before something else does, because if you do you may ask for a gift from our Higher Authorities." She smiled creepily.

"Gift?" Hyunjin said breathlessly. "What kind of gift?" He hadn't meant to say it out loud, it was mostly pointed to himself. "And what does she mean with 'before something else does'?"

Donna smiled even broader, which made Hyunjin hate the woman more and more. "That gift can be anything. As long as it's a physical item or object, you can think of anything. You can make up the craziest stuff and we'll make it for you." Donna clapped her hands. "Now, questions? I won't be able to answer all of them though."

The whole room erupted I'm screams and questions.
Donna's annoying smile disappeared from her face in a flash.

"Silence!" She yelled for the second time that day. Everyone fell silent, much faster than the first time.

"Thank you." She said stiffly. In barely a second she was holding up that disgusting smile of hers. "I will point out one for a question, so raise your hand."

Almost everyone raised their hands in the air. They all felt embarrassed that they were being treated like children but their lives were a little more important than their pride at that moment.

"You there." Donna pointed at an unspecified guy. The guy looked like he froze for a moment but then he quickly yelled his question.

"Why is it called the Monster's Labyrinth?" The man asked. Hyunjin heard it vaguely from where he was standing but he did understand the question. And to be honest he didn't want to know the answer.

"Oh you'll find out soon enough." Donna said with an ominous smirk. A few people burst in protest at the vague answer but she just silenced them with a single whip of her hand. "Just remember this." She said. She looked around the big room for a moment. "There's only one of each."

Hyunjin wanted to throw up for what must've been the n'nth time that day. It must've been a joke right.

Monster's Labyrinth?

She didn't mean like actual monsters? Right?

Those don't exist.

But didn't she say that those so-called 'Higher Authorities' can make anything you desire?

Doesn't that mean that they can practically make their own desires too?

And what if those desires include monsters?

And what in the world did she mean with 'there's only one of each'?

Hyunjin had completely forgotten to listen to Donna answering the rest of the questions.

He quickly snapped out of his own thoughts, mostly because he was getting terrified of them, and looked up to the woman who was still standing under the huge red swing.

Donna pointed at what Hyunjin assumed was an obese man, and the man spoke up immediately.

"So how do you win?" The man asked. Donna clapped her hands together for the n'nth time and gave everyone an ominous grin.

"You have to survive as the last contestant of course." She cackled.

At once Hyunjin's face was drained from all the little blood that was left in it.
