Jisung looked up at the figure with wide, teary eyes. The man was wearing a mask which prevented him from seeing his face.
But he didn't need to see his face, because he somehow recognised the voice at once."Hyunjin?" He said in a breathy whisper. Yes, he had known Hyunjin for barely a few hours back in the plane, but meeting someone in this hellhole you sort of know is more than simply relieving for anybody. So he was relieved, to say the least.
The man took off his mask in a flash and indeed revealed Hyunjin's handsome face.
"Oh thank god it's just you." Hyunjin said. He looked incredibly tired, and stressed would be an understatement. Jisung felt slight worry for the man.Hyunjin kneeled down beside the boy, and Jisung noticed how extremely pale he was. Though he was sure he wasn't looking any better.
"What happened?" Hyunjin asked with a shaky voice. For some reason every thought of killing the target, in other words the pummeled boy in front of him, had completely fled from his mind.
"I don't know!" Jisung suddenly started crying. His body was shaking. "I accidentally met with him and we talked and-and then the bracelet announced the target and-and I wasn't even planning on killing him!" Jisung sobbed. Huge tears rolled down his cheeks. The building tension and stress he had been feeling the past weeks was finally finding an exit. It was sudden, but I'm some aspect nice.
Hyunjin couldn't find the power in his shaky hands to comfort the man.
"And s-suddenly there was this huge explo-plotion and then there was blood everywhere and- oh god..." He had finally stopped sobbing, switching to soft sniffles, and Hyunjin was frozen into place. Seong-ho was doing nothing but stare blankly in front of him. Hadn't it been for the ragged breaths that were very clearly to be heard, Hyunjin would have assumed he was dead simply by the look in his eyes.
"Jisung, please this isn't helping." Hyunjin said softly. He still wasn't moving but he could tell that Seong-ho was nearing his end. And he didn't want the poor boy to die hearing pained cries.
Jisung simply nodded and quickly wiped his tears. He'd cry later.
Out of nowhere Seong-ho's hand shot forwards and grabbed Hyunjin's wrist. He winced but didn't back off.
Seong-ho looked at Hyunjin with crazed eyes. His grip was surprisingly strong for the way his body was mauled."Hyunjin, right?" He spoke. His voice was surprisingly firm, very much in contrast to the condition his body was in. Hyunjin nodded in assurance. "Can you do a favor for me?" The boy spoke. Hyunjin was shocked. The fact that a young-teenager could remain this calm in such a terrifying situation was incredible.
"Yes, anything." Hyunjin said with a shaky nod.
"I saw you had a gun." Seong-ho said. He let go of Hyunjin's hand and let it drop onto the white stone floor. He was too tired to hold on to it anyway.
Hyunjin nodded, very unhappy with where this favor was leading to."Can you please kill me?" Seong-Ho said with a surprising calm tone. Hyunjin could do nothing but stare at the boy for a few seconds.
This had been so much different from when he had practically begged to be freed from his labour. This time he was very calm, and certain too.
Hyunjin averted his gaze from the boy and shook his head. He couldn't do it. He just knew he couldn't. Seong-ho's eyes filled themselves with panic.
"No, please!" He pleaded. "It will be in your favor, right? You'll get your gift, I'll be freed from my misery." The boy sounded close to insane. "I don't have a reason to live anymore anyway! Jang-mi is dead and she was the only and last reason for me to live!"
