(drowning • Vague003)
Hyunjin sat beside Minho. Changbin and Seungmin were talking about something a few meters apart from the two, but they didn't mind. They would try to do anything stupid anyway, even though they now officially had access to the firearms.
A week has passed already and their food ration has slimmed tremendously. They were tired, hungry, and most of all, scared.
They hadn't had an encounter with any monster for the entire week, though it only tightened the tension in their stomachs instead of them feeling relief. It felt like something was about to jump on top of them any second now.
Hyunjin leaned his head against the white wall. He had officially labelled the material as marble, since that was what it looked like.
"Something's on your mind." Hyunjin spoke up. Minho hummed a little absently, not a no nor a yes. "You're gonna tell me about it?" Hyunjin asked. He turned his head, and looked at Minho. He was staring at the wall, his eyes unfocused. His face was slightly pale.
Minho shook his head absently. "Ah." Hyunjin said. "You're not really the talkative type, now are you?" He chuckled. Minho didn't really respond. And Hyunjin kept quiet.
"Do you-" Minho cut himself off. "I. I have these... kind of dreams, since I'm here." He said. He was still staring at the wall. A hazy look in his eyes.
Hyunjin hummed. He knew exactly what the elder was talking about, yet he didn't really want to assume anything.
"Are they like memories?" He dared to say. He wanted Minho to say yes, wanted him to confirm to him that he wasn't the only one who had those dreams. That he wasn't going crazy."They are memories." Minho said. "My memories with Jisung." He whispered. Hyunjin didn't know why the elder was whispering. Had he listened a little better he'd be able to hear the shake in his voice though.
"Hmm." Hyunjin answered. Minho continued: "They are so real. It's like I'm really reliving them. But then I wake up, without him..." Minho said. Hyunjin's breath hitched. He look away for a split second.
"I keep getting dreams about Felix too." Hyunjin said. He looked back at the male again. "But there's more on your mind, isn't there?" Hyunjin asked carefully. Minho nodded, but didn't answer immediately.
"Do you have dreams about Felix only, or does someone else keep appearing too?" Minho asked. Hyunjin thought for a moment. He had had about two dreams that had included his father, but he found that that didn't count.
"No. You?" Hyunjin leaned his head back at the white wall. He closed his eyes shut.
Minho nodded and hummed a yes.
"Who is it?" Hyunjin asked. He couldn't contain his curiosity, even though it was none of his business."Me and- me and... uhm..." Minho choked on his words. He looked down. Hyunjin knew he was suppressing his tears but he acted oblivious to it, thinking the other would prefer that. Hyunjin looked away, thinking it would make Minho feel more comfortable.
"Me and Jisung used to uhm..." Minho but his lower lip. "Me and Jisung used to have a son." He whispered. Hyunjin couldn't help but snap his head towards Minho in suprise. But two words got stuck in his mind.
"You used to?" He asked carefully, Minho nodded. Hyunjin saw a single tear roll down his cheek, but yet again he didn't react to it. "What-what happened?"
"He got kidnapped." Minho choked up. More tears flowed out of his eyes. Minho wiped them away, desperately trying to stop them from streaming.
"I-I was with him. And then there were these-these men." Minho sighed. "Someone tased me from behind, and when I woke up he was... he was gone..." Minho said quietly. Silent tears rolled down his cheek. Minho held his breath every few seconds to suppress loud sobs from escaping.
