(Skyfall • Adele)

“Dad?” The boy said. His voice shook. Many were surprised at how small the boy suddenly sounded. He sounded emotional to say the least.

Without any hesitation Jisung flew forwards. The boy did too, and they hugged. Minho was very quick to join them.
Jisung started crying.

“Oh my god.” He sobbed. He pressed the boy even closer to his chest. “Jun-ho, oh my god…” He pressed a long, gentle kiss on the boy’s forehead. Minho could do nothing but hold the two. He was too stunned to both speak and cry.

Hyunjin and Felix watched the scene unfold in front of them in amazement. Both were aware that the boy wasn’t biologically theirs, but the way that they were hugging each other and crying so hard, they must’ve been very close to each other.

“Oh my god…” Jisung pulled back and grabbed his son’s face. “You’ve grown so much, I-“ He choked up. Jun-ho just looked at both the men in front of him. He looked confused and had tears in his eyes, but eventually a smile popped up on his face. He grabbed Jisung’s wrist, and looked at Minho. “Is that you?” He choked up. Jisung nodded frantically.

“Yes sweetheart, it’s us. You’re with us now.” He cried. He pressed another kiss on the boy’s forehead, and closed his eyes as his husbands pulled both of them in a long and meaningful hug.

“But…” He frowned. “What are you doing here?” He asked shakely. Minho and Jisung looked at him sadly, and both were very much convinced that this was all worth the lifelong trauma that awaited the two. And the scars. But of course the scars would be worth finding their son.

Jun-ho turned around with a jerk. “You put my parents in the Labyrinth?” He spat. The woman shrugged her shoulders.
“They did find you, so don’t be so ungrateful.” She chuckled. The boy looked at her in disgust. He took a step back, into Jisung and Minho’s arms.

A tear rolled down the boy’s cheek. “The fact that you took me away from them was bad enough, you could’ve just given me back to them if you’re going to let us go anyway.” The boy said shakily. The woman suddenly threw her head back and laughed.

“Jun-ho, don’t be foolish!” She exclaimed, as if the boy in the lab coat was the most unknowing creature to exist. “You really thought I was going to let someone as valuable as you go?” She mocked him. Jun-ho looked up at his parents, who looked at him reassuringly. “We saved you for a reason, you know?” She laughed.

“He’s coming with us, even if we have to kill you in the process.” Minho spoke steadily. The woman’s face dropped at a scary speed. The way she could change demeanour so fast was quite intimidating.
“I dare you to try.” She said dangerously.

Minho daringly lifted up the machine gun, knowing it was of no use. Yet the symbolism was enough. The woman chuckled nervously, not averting her gaze from the machine gun.

“Minho.” Jeongin tried to catch the elder’s attention. Minho looked at him confusedly, almost as if surprised that Jeongin could indeed talk. He raised his eyebrow, a sign for Jeongin to continue. “If you shoot at the shield for ten seconds straight it will break.” Jeongin said, a dangerous smirk playing around his mouth.

Minho chuckled and looked back at the woman, who was now desperately trying to hide her panic.
“Oh is that so?” He said, deciding to give the woman a good scare. He chuckled.

“Changbin?” He turned towards the younger. The gun still pointed at the woman’s shield. Changbin looked up from some type of trance. Minho didn’t pay any attention to that.

“How much munition do we have left, and then I’m talking about the munition for the machine gun. I’m not just going to waste our munition on this woman if we don’t have enough.” He said calmly. For the first time in a very long while he felt like he had the upper hand, and it gave him power.

Changbin nodded and looked at the larger backpack laying at his feet. He bucked and unzipped it. He looked inside for a moment.

He sipped the bag shut again and stood straight. “We have enough for thirty seconds of shooting, if you’d exclude the munition already in the gun. Which I must warn you is not much.” Changbin answered. Minho nodded.

“That’s not much, so let’s not waste it.” Chan spoke up. All attention went over to him.
“How much is that exactly?” Hyunjin asked. “Thirty seconds of shooting?” Jisung shrugged his shoulders.
“I assume quite literally if you’d pull the trigger you’d be able to shoot thirty seconds if you’d combine every time you have to reload.” He answered. Hyunjin nodded.

A few more questions followed, lead by the woman who was desperately trying to bring all attention back to her.

“Will we need it later on?” Felix spoke up. Chan sighed in relief. Finally people were asking the right questions. He looked down at his feet, and nodded.
“We will, yeah.” He spoke in a small voice, not looking up to what was coming.

“Wait what?” Jun-ho spoke up in a small voice. For a quick second everybody threw the terrified boy a look that screamed pity, and he saw it. But he didn’t care.

“I thought that was just a story you told me?” He asked, his voice shaky. Chan shook his head.
“That was before the chip.” He said. Jun-ho nodded, and looked away for a second. He turned around, and met eyes with Jisung. He then looked away again, to his feet. The group stayed like that in silence for a moment.

Jun-ho lifted his head to meet eyes with the woman. He bit his lip. “I hate you.” He said. For a moment everybody stood frozen in space, trying to comprehend what the boy had just said. Then the woman threw her head back and started laughing again. Like a fucking maniac.

She looked back, and out of nowhere she pulled out a gun. “You ungrateful shit!” She exclaimed. She pointed it at the young boy, but Minho and Jisung were quick to stand in front of him.

“Mom, don’t.” Seungmin spoke up, catching the woman by surprise. She had almost forgotten that her own son was in the same room with her. For a very quick second her gaze shifted to something more, how do you say it…

Motherly?

No. That wasn’t it. And even if it was, it was gone as quick as it came, making it practically invalid.
Right?

“You’re one shit of an ungrateful son too!” She suddenly exclaimed. Without hesitation she moved her aim over to Seungmin, who quickly managed to duck as she pulled the trigger and missed his head by an inch. Seungmin looked at his mother in horror.

“Now keep silent and let me finish my bussiness.” She said, Seungmin didn’t say anything, shock and hurt contorting his face.

“Now, where were we?” She said. All patience had run out of her voice. Only anger and frustration was left by now. “Ah right, I was going to kill the boy I had tried to raise so well.” She snarled.

“You didn’t even raise me!” Jun-ho exclaimed from behind his fathers. “I only remember Chan and Jeongin caring for me, while I blamed you for everything that had happened to me.” He said. He sounded like a teenager trying to win an argument against his teacher.

“Don’t be so ungrateful!” The woman suddenly snapped. Her eyes spit fire as she finally managed to make eye contact with the boy from behind his parents.

“You were supposed to be left to die in the Labyrinth, but I saw potential in you, without me you’d be dead!” She exclaimed. The boy was about to open his mouth to argue back, when he was cut off.

All the hairs stood up straight in Hyunjin’s neck as he heard the loud growl from behind him. In a reflex he grabbed Felix closer to him, pressing the man against his chest. Another snarl, but this one sounded much angrier than the first.
