(Play With Fire • Sam Tinnesz, Yacht Money)

Without any further hesitation Felix grabbed the sword from his pocket and threw it at Hyunjin who caught it with ease. He slightly panicked when he got handed the machine gun by Minho but he didn’t oblige nor did he complain.

Being stuck with those monstrosities for over a month was still terrifying, but all of them had learned not to stand still when there was action needed. At least not most of the time.

They looked at the nurse and she pointed at the stocking shelf in the most far away aisle in the corner, as far away from her as possible. The shelves were high enough to hide all of them even if they were standing.

Hyunjin noticed Felix’s hesitation and immediately grasped his hand to drag him away from the woman.
They ran towards the aisle. Hyunjin pulled Felix behind it and quickly pulled the shorter one in a meaningful embrace.

Felix felt his heart calm down as Hyunjin wrapped his arms around him from behind, but he couldn’t help but feel worried for the woman that had helped him.

“What if she gets hurt?” He asked shakely. The growling and stomping was growing louder. Hyunjin sighed as he tightened his grip around the hilt Felix had passed him earlier.

“I don’t know.” Hyunjin admitted. “But we have to get out of here as quickly as possible.”
Felix nodded and hugged Hyunjin’s arms that were wrapped around him in a way to try and calm both of them down.

“I’m scared.” Felix admitted, although his voice was surprisingly stable and neutral.
“I’m too, baby.” Hyunjin said as he tightened his grip around Felix even more before loosening it again, so he wouldn’t choke the poor man. They whispered a few quick ‘l love you’s to each other before trying to hide behind the shelf even more.

They exchanged looks with their friends and could do nothing but hope for the best. Some held their breaths and some were trying not to break down.

Then everything came crashing down. Quite literally.

Suddenly everything shook, almost like there was an earthquake. While in reality the monster was just pouncing on the wall with even more aggression.

Felix stumbled forwards but Hyunjin caught him just on time. Minho had the same problem but he managed to grab Changbin’s bicep just before he hit the ground.

Seungmin seemed surprisingly calm out of all. He had the gun raised and pointed at the door, even though everybody knew it wouldn’t enter through that.

Felix made eye contact with him and Seungmin gave him a quick smile before he focused back on the wall which was slowly giving in to the continuous pouncing of the monster.

Plaster fell from the roof on top of the heads of the alliance. They had just decided to put on their mask for safety measures when the continuous pouncing suddenly stopped.

The group looked around confusedly, scared as if the monster might suddenly pop up behind them.

“What-?” Hyunjin tried to say. But he was cut off as the entire wall literally came crashing down. They heard an appalling screech followed by deep, loud roars. The monster sounded mad to say the least. Felix heard Jisung screech in surprise.

Because of the immense thick dust in the air none of them could see anything except some movement. They tried really hard to hold their coughs while the group was anxiously waiting for whatever would come. A huge black form appeared in the slowly settling dust.

The form was neither flesh nor shadow. It was see-through, but judging by the way it easily threw down the stocking shelves it was most certainly some type of solid.

The monster had three arms, three heads and three tails. What the heads looked like though, the group could not see, since it was facing the woman, its back turned towards them.

Nothing moved for a straight twenty seconds. When the woman finally started hissing a deep growling noise came from the monster. The woman’s white hair stood up the same way as it had done earlier. The monster swung its tail around and with that sent the desk flying into the air.

“We should go now we still can.” Minho whispered softly, just loud enough for the group to hear. Pretty much everybody nodded, except Felix who was worriedly looking at the woman.

“But she’ll get hurt.” He whispered softly. His face fell slowly. He turned towards Minho and was actually surprised to see the grieved eyes of the other.
“I know, Felix.” Minho whispered gently. He placed a hand on Felix’s shoulder. “But we’ll die if we stay here any longer.” He spoke insistently.

Felix looked down and then nodded. He looked up again and watched as the monster came closer to the woman. Exactly like how a tiger approaches its prey.

He lifted the machine gun and carefully pointed at the monster’s back.
“You guys get out of here, I’ll follow.” He whispered. The group immediately disagreed, Hyunjin probably the most, but when Felix turned to them and showed them a face so determined that it was obvious he wouldn’t budge in his decision, they could do nothing but sigh.

Slowly they made their way over to the collapsed wall. Felix followed slowly, consistently pointing the gun at the monster, who still wasn’t moving.

The woman and monster did nothing except hiss and growl at each other, sometimes taking a step closer but never really attacking. Both waiting for one of them to take the first step.

The group had almost reached the familiar hallways when the bigger shadow-monster finally leaped forward. The woman didn’t oblige and just let the monster mutilate her body in between its teeth.
Felix froze in his tracks but was luckily dragged away by Changbin who had noticed.

“No!” Felix exclaimed. Pretty much the whole group had reached the hallway except Changbin and Felix. Changbin quickly slapped his hand in front of Felix’s mouth in hope of silencing the noise, but luckily the monster was much too busy with the bloody mess between its teeth.

Changbin dragged Felix away from the monster, with some struggle, and they started running away at once. Even though Felix left with a certain sadness. He somehow cared about the woman that had healed him.

Oh well.
She was a monster after all.

When they were finally done fleeing they let themselves collapse on the ground after Hyunjin had confirmed there weren’t any monsters nor contestants nearby.

“That was stupid, Felix!” Hyunjin exclaimed. “You could’ve gotten hurt!” He crouched down beside the tired Felix and looked at him both worriedly and angrily.

“I know.” Felix sighed. He looked down at his lap in shame. He had never liked getting scolded by Hyunjin.
“God, just don’t do that again.” Hyunjin said before taking Felix in a tight embrace. The younger one didn't say anything since he was sure he would start crying any moment.

Hyunjin buried his face in Felix’s hair and sighed in both content and exhaustion.
“I finally have you back, don’t leave me now.” He said. Felix just smiled softly and nodded, then he made himself comfortable in Hyunjin’s arms and finally he took a rest.
