About 10 years later
"Hea, honey, where is your backpack?" Felix stressed.
"It's in my room!" The little girl said. She pushed her foot further in the shoe, and grabbed the other, leaving her shoe laces untied.
"I'll get it, you fix her hair." Hyunjin said before he gave Felix a quick kiss and made his way to their daughter's room.Felix looked at the girl's head and groaned in frustration.
"Hea!" He groaned as he kneeled down beside the girl. She was struggling trying to put on her ridiculous pink princess sneakers, completely unmatching with her glitter galaxy sweatpants. But oh well, she had practically begged if she could have those, and who was Felix to decline? She was just eight after all, so style mattered in the least. And she liked it, which was the most important."I told you not to pull your pigtails!" He groaned as he gently grabbed the girl's face and made her face him. He grabbed the now loose pigtail and removed the hair band before he tied the tail yet again.
"I don't like them!" She huffed. She had finally managed to fit her foot inside her shoe. She still refused to admit that they were much too small for her quickly growing feet.
"Why not?" Felix pouted. Hea dramatically crossed her arms. She might've been adopted, but both men couldn't argue about the fact that she looked a lot like them. With the freckles and siren eyes, you'd almost say it was a biologically impossible child Felix and Hyunjin had somehow made."The girls at school day I look stupid!" She huffed again. Hyunjin came walking in.
"They say what now?" He asked. Hea started thrashing her legs around to prove her point. Whatever that might be.
"I don't want to look stupid!" She yelled. She started crying."Oh god..." Felix sighed. She had the exact same temper and ability to cry rivers as Felix. Felix glanced at the clock. He poked the inside of his cheek with his tongue.
Chan could be here any time. He bit his lip.
His daughter was more important now, he concluded. He pulled the little girl on his lap and cradled her softly. Hyunjin watched with a pout, not sure what to do.
"Sweetie, you don't look stupid, I promise." The girl huffed in disbelief as she quickly wiped away her tears. But they continued streaming. Hyunjin was next to wipe them away with his sleeve. He smiled softly at her.
She scrunched her nose. "I feel stupid." She said with a pout.
"If it really bothers you we can take them out, of course." Felix said. "But I promise, you look cute." He smiled at her puffed up cheeks."Am I right, Hyunjin?" Felix looked up. He grabbed her face between his hands and proudly turned it towards Hyunjin. Hyunjin nodded aggressively.
"Adorable, even." He said with wide open eyes as he continued nodding. Hea chuckled. The bell rang. Felix sat up straight. "Oh look!" He said. "There are uncle Channie and Min Joon!" He said. Hea immediately tried to stand up from Felix's lap. Once she had succeeded she bent over to tie her shoe laces. When, like always, she failed to do so, Felix helped her a little bit.
Hyunjin opened the door. "Chan, how are you doing mate?" He asked. They did a quick handshake.
"Wow, Min Joon, you've grown!" Hyunjin smiled cheekily. Felix chuckled at the cheesiness of his husband.
"We saw each other yesterday?" Min Joon frowned in a confused manner. Hyunjin just chuckled and ruffled his hair as he struck a quick convo with Chan about the coming wedding between Seungmin and Changbin."Wait." Felix said as he kneeled down beside the girl again. He grabbed one of her piggy tails and was about to remove the rubber band when she stopped him by quickly grabbing them with both hands.
"No!" She exclaimed. "I wanna keep them!" She pouted.
"But I thought-" Felix blinked a few times in confusion. "Nevermind." Felix chuckled, a little surprised at her quick change of demeanours. She smiled at him as he gave her a peck on the forehead before she turned around and skipped her way over to her best friend. Her SpongeBob backpack bouncing behind her."Minnie!" She said. She jumped in front of him, which startled the boy. Though he quickly smiled back at her.
"Hello!" He said. He was naturally a bit calmer than Hea, but he was extremely sweet to her nonetheless.
"Do you like my hair?" Hea asked proudly. Min Joon looked up at her hair and nodded with a broad smile.
"I love it!" He chuckled. Hea smiled even wider."Hey, we need to go!" Chan hurried the two. "We don't want you two coming late again!" He put his hand on Hea's back and pushed her out of the door opening.
"Thank you so much for bringing her to school today!" Felix thanked his friend. Chan smiled his infamous dimple smile.
"No problem Lix, I know how hard you two need your day off." He winked cheekily at them, not putting it in words as there were children around."That's enough, Chan." Hyunjin rolled his eyes. Chan nodded and waved at them before he lifted both the eight year olds up and walked away quickly. Like always they were running late. Felix closed the door with a sigh.
The younger wasn't even surprised when he felt Hyunjin's hands creep up his waist from behind, as he buried his nose in Felix's nape.
"You know..." He said. "Chan does have a point..." He left a soft peck in Felix's neck.
"Oh yeah?" Felix chuckled, turning his head. Hyunjin pouted cutely at him.
"Yeah." Hyunjin said. "I mean, Hea is gone... we have the day off... so what do you say?" He said naughtily. Felix laughed as the elder lifted him him up and dragged him away to the bedroom.•
"So how have your nightmares been going lately?" Hyunjin asked. Their sweaty bodies were entangled with each other, and both were still trying to catch their breaths.
Hyunjin brushed a sweaty strand of brown hair out of Felix's face. Felix smiled.
"Great actually, I don't even remember dreaming about it for the past couple months, I believe." He said.
Hyunjin smiled in relief. "Amazing." He said. Felix chuckled and moved closer to Hyunjin."I love Hea, I really do, but I've genuinely missed this." He said, referring to the slight pain in his lower back. Hyunjin laughed.
"Me too." He said. A comfortable silence fell over the two."I love you, Hyunjin." Felix mumbled cheekily. Hyunjin smiled as he buried his face in Felix hair, which he always loved doing.
"I love you much, much more." Hyunjin said.
Felix smiled. "How are you so sure of that?" Felix asked.
Hyunjin chuckled. "I'm not, that's the fun in it."
