Taniya's pov:
As we entered the room, Adi placed the suitcases on the ground and turned around, pulling me into a warm hug.
"I'm exhausted," he mumbled, resting his head on top of mine. I couldn't help but chuckle.
"You can rest today," I suggested.
He pouted like a child. "But I can't sleep without you here."
His sudden change intrigued me.
I liked this change. "Aditya, it's only been one day. You managed to sleep alone all this time, so why not now?"His grip tightened. "It's different now. Having you in my arms feels...right. I don't want to sleep without you."
His words caught me off guard.
"I want to be glued to your side, to go everywhere with you," he confessed.
I teased him, "How did you change so much in just one day?"
Adi's expression softened. "It's not just today, Taniya. From the very second of our marriage, I wanted to be by your side. I gave you space because I thought you needed it. But now that we're closer, I don't want to waste a single moment."
His honesty hit me like a wave. I felt remorse for neglecting his efforts and snapping at him when he cared for me.
Aditya I am sorr-
Before I could apologize, he cut me off."No need to apologize," he said, his eyes locked on mine. "Let's make every moment count."
Adi's sincerity touched my heart. I had been so guarded, so focused on my own fears and insecurities that I hadn't fully appreciated his unwavering, commitment. But now, as he stood there, eyes filled with determination, I realized how lucky I was to have him by my side.
"Aditya" I began softly, "I'm sorry for pushing you away. I didn't understand how much you cared."
He brushed a strand of hair from my face
"Taniya, it's okay. We all have our moments of doubt. But now, let's focus on us."His words resonated. Maybe it was time to let go of the past and embrace this newfound connection. "You're right. I said. "Let's make every moment count."
We stayed like that for a while, wrapped in each other's warmth, until the aroma of breakfast wafted through the room. Adi chuckled. "I guess we can't stay cocooned forever."
I laughed too, feeling lighter like I had in the past few days, with just me and Aditya. "No, we can't. Let's go down and face the world together."
He chuckled in response, his laugh is so beautiful. How could I even this with him.
As we descended the stairs, hand in hand, the chatter of our families greeted us. The dining table was set, and the fragrant spices of home-cooked food filled the air. Dadi and dadu smiled, and the siblings exchanged knowing glances.
"Finally decided to join us?" Naira teased.
I blushed, feeling a mix of embarrassment and happiness.
"Yes, we did."Aditya replied
Breakfast became a lively affair. Adi's mom insisted on feeding us extra helpings of parathas, and dadu shared stories from his youth.
After breakfast, I changed into my comfortable home clothes.
Simultaneously, Aditya entered the room, clad in a casual T-shirt and trousers. His smile warmed my heart as he headed toward the window. With deliberate care, he pulled all the curtains, casting a gentle dimness over the room-perfect for a midday nap.
