It seems your baby doesn’t want to share their birthday with anyone else” the doctor chuckled.

Aditya laughed nervously, scratching the back of his neck while Taniya shot him a glare so sharp that implied that even breathing wrong could get him killed.

Their baby boy had entered the world at exactly 11:57 PM, while his twin seemed to be in no hurry to come out and was still enjoying in her mother’s tummy.

Aditya tried to calm Taniya down by whispering words of encouragement though it seemed like he could also use some.

*Flashback*

It was a quiet night and both Aditya and Taniya were sleeping peacefully until they weren’t.

Taniya woke up and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't fall back asleep.

Her irritation grew the more she stared at Aditya who was sleeping peacefully beside her. Finally, after a few seconds of not so patient contemplating, she gave his shoulder a hard shake.

“WHAT HAPPENED? ARE YOU OKAY?” Aditya shot up from his sleep.

“No. Just…breathe quietly,” she muttered while looking his wide eyes and panicked face.

Aditya blinked, still trying to wrap his head around her words,“How am I supposed to control my breathing in my sleep?” he finally asked.

“I don’t know…shut your system down or something,” Taniya said.

For a moment, Aditya just stared at her in confusion but then, with a mischievous grin, he leaned closer and pressed his lips to hers.

Taniya was caught off guard but soon melted into the kiss.

“See? Hogaya poora system shut down,” Aditya murmured after pulling away, flopping back on the bed like a robot powering off.

His silliness dragged a laugh out of Taniya making her irritation melt away.

“You know,” Aditya said softly, lying beside her, “this might be the last week we’re just two.”

“Ye–Oh no!” Taniya began but then gasped suddenly.

“What happened?!?” Aditya asked, still half lost in his own thoughts.

“I think this might be the last day we are t-” Taniya began, but her words were cut off by a sudden scream that ripped through the room.

Aditya snapped out of his thoughts instantly, his entire body jolting awake as the scene before him sank in.

“It’s okay. It’s okay. Just breathe,” he said quickly, though his own chest was heaving making his voice shaky.

“HOW DO YOU THINK I’M ALIVE IF I’M NOT BREATH—AAAAH!” Taniya cried, her sentence breaking into another scream as a sharp wave of pain tore through her.

Aditya’s panic mode kicked in. He scrambled, stuffing essentials into the hospital bag with shaky hands. He called his parents and within minutes, his father was driving them to the hospital while his mother and Aditya held Taniya’s hand in the backseat.

The moment they arrived at the hospital,Taniya was rushed into the labor room. The family members were pacing outside the door while it was just Aditya and Taniya inside.

*Flashback Ends*

“It’s a girl,” the doctor finally announced and then the room was filled with tiny cries making Aditya’s knees almost give way.
