"I'll pick you up at 6, okay?" Aditya said to Taniya as they stood outside the hospital. She nodded, her eyes soft as they met his."Take care,"

"You too," he responded, leaning down to leave a kiss on her forehead. His heart wanted to kiss her lips but he restrained himself for her comfort, especially with several of her colleagues passing by and glancing their way.

But Taniya wasn't someone who felt uncomfortable with public affection. Closing the gap between them before he could step back, she pulled him in for a kiss right there in front of the hospital entrance. It was unexpected but absolutely perfect.

"Bohatt time lete hai aap," she chided playfully after they parted, her eyes gleaming with mischief.
(You take so long.)

Without giving him time to respond, she pulled him back for another quick peck before waving goodbye and disappearing into the hospital.

Aditya stood there for a long moment, completely stunned, his mind struggling to catch up with what had just happened but then a smile spread slowly across his face and he could feel his ears and neck flushing with a rosy hue that he was grateful no one important could see.

He climbed into his car in a daze, still reeling from the kiss as he started the engine and drove toward his office with a smile that didn't fade for a single moment.

Throughout the day, both of them were daydreaming and smiling at every person who walked past them.

The sight of Aditya's smiling face didn't go unnoticed by his employees and throughout the whole day, they kept wondering what had happened to their usually composed boss.

As the day drew to a close, Aditya prepared to leave his office. He was already thinking about picking her up and thinking that he should maybe take her somewhere before heading home.He stepped out of the main entrance, distracted by his thoughts when a sudden collision sent him stumbling.

His hand struck the door handle with force, leaving a sharp cut that stung immediately and the blood began to drip from his palm but before he could even register the pain, he heard someone’s concerned voice.

"I am so sorry”.

"Niharika," he said as he looked at the person and recognized her immediately.

"Aditya," she called simultaneously, her eyes widening with the same shock he felt.

Before he could ask her anything, she stepped forward and pulled him into a hug. Aditya stood there stiffly, his arms coming up in what could barely be called a hug and more of a side embrace as his hand patted her back awkwardly while his mind was filled with confusion about why she was here.

"Why are you here?" he asked after they separated.

"I came to see you," Niharika replied simply, her eyes searching his face like she was looking for something. "I haven't heard from you in so long, and I thought...well, I wanted to see how you were."

"Are you heading home?" she asked, her voice carrying a note of hope.

Aditya nodded."Yes, but-”

"Perfect," Niharika said, her face brightening. "I'd love to meet your parents. It's been so long since I've seen them."

He couldn't refuse her request, though he felt a strange reluctance. “Of course,” he said. “But I need to pick up my wife from the hospital. I will ask Veer to take you or I can send you with the driver”

He watched as Niharika's expression shifted to surprise. “Hospital? Is she alright?” she asked, concern flickering across her face.

"Yes she is okay. Actually she's a doctor," Aditya explained and he was surprised to hear the note of pride in his own voice when he said it.
