*Taniya’s POV*

“No, dadda. Two hugs are still pending,” I heard Kaizen mumble, his voice energetic and stubborn.

Even after playing the whole day with his friends and sister as it was his birthday, he still had that spark of energy in him.

“That’s because you gave me two less kisses in the morning,” Aditya replied softly as he tucked Kaizen in on one side of the bed while I sat on the other side with Kiyana, brushing her hair.

Kaizen stretched his small arms up, wrapping them tightly around Aditya’s neck and planting two quick kisses on his cheeks.

Aditya, who had just managed to tuck him in, stood up with Kaizen still clinging to him like a little monkey. He rubbed his rough stubble against Kaizen’s cheeks, making him giggle and squirm.

Since the children turned three, Aditya made a pact a hug and kiss pact with the kids that every kiss they give would always be returned with a hug.

I couldn’t help but laugh softly from my spot on the bed  as Aditya leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss on Kaizen’s forehead before giving him two big hugs that made him squeal.

Kaizen laughed out between his tiny protests.

Aditya loosened his hold and carefully laid him back down.

“No more forgetting, okay?” he said firmly.

Kaizen grinned, holding up his pinky finger in answer. “Promise.” Aditya hooked his own pinky around his' sealing their little deal.

I looked at  Kiyana who was  watching the whole exchange with her lips pressed into a pout.

“Do you want a hug too, Kiki?” Aditya asked her gently but she shook her head hard in refusal before slipping under the blanket beside her brother.

“Only Kai can hug me now.”

I bit back a laugh, already knowing why she was behaving this way.

Last week, Aditya "accidentally" broke her dancing cactus toy.

It wasn’t actually an accident. He was jealous of that toy because it stole her attention away from him so he thought of hiding it but forgot where he had kept it and while searching, he accidentally stepped on it and Kiyana caught him red-handed.

He tried his hardest to make it up to her. He even dressed like a cactus and danced for her, mimicking those moves perfectly.

For a little while, maybe twenty or thirty minutes, she was happy, clapping and laughing like nothing had happened but the moment his performance ended, her face went back to that same old pout.

That’s what happens when you spoil your daughter too much, I guess.

Right in your face, Mr. Singhania.

Aditya sighed dramatically, pressing a hand to his chest. “Kiki, are you still angry with dadda? I already said sorry.”

Kiyana tilted her head, her half-combed hair bouncing softly. “Hugs go to mama or Kai. You can ask them to give them to you.”
