VEER, finish your breakfast quickly. Bunty k sabun se bhi slow hai tu," Kavya chided, her glare as sharp as the one she'd been giving him since he sat down at the dining table.
"Maa and Papa are leaving now. You two should come with your brother," Kavya instructed, rummaging through her purse for her keys, while Arjun meticulously checked that everything was locked up.
The family was bustling with excitement, preparing to leave for their uncle's house for his daughter's engagement.
"Yes, Maa," Naira chimed in, finally looking up from her plate, which she had managed to finish without attracting any of Kavya's scolding-a fate Veer hadn't been lucky enough to avoid.
As Kavya and the others departed, Veer and Naira retreated to their respective rooms to dress for the occasion. Meanwhile, Aditya waited in his room, fully dressed and ready, while Taniya was still in the closet, struggling with the saree her mother-in-law had given her.
Dressed and ready, Naira and Veer waited for them when the landline's shrill ring cut through the silence. It was Arjun on the line.
"Veer, we've left the jewelry at home. It's in the bag in Papa's room," he said, his voice laced with urgency.
"Don't worry, I'll bring it with me, Papa," Veer assured him confidently.
"We're coming back; bring it to the gate," Arjun instructed.
"Okay," Veer replied, already moving to retrieve the forgotten treasure.
Minutes later, the sound of a car horn signaled their return.
Veer, fully dressed and ready, went out to hand over the bag. Seeing him all set, his father suggested, "Come with us." Veer quickly informed Aditya over the phone and also called Naira. They joined the elders, leaving Aditya and Taniya to follow.
"Aditya!" Taniya's voice echoed from the closet, urgent and flustered.
"Can you call Naira? I need her help," she pleaded.
"She's not here; she left with mom and dad," Aditya responded.
"What do you need help with?" he probed.
"I can't seem to drape this saree... I don't know how," Taniya confessed, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Why didn't you call her earlier? What have you been doing all this time?" Aditya's tone was a mix of amusement and concern.
"I thought I could learn from a YouTube tutorial, but it's not as easy as they make it look," she admitted.
"Taniya, this isn't the time to be watching tutorials when you could ask for help like a normal person," he chided gently.
"Oh is this the time to lecture me when you can help like a normal person?" Taniya retorted.
With a click, the closet door swung open, and Aditya stepped in to find Taniya entangled in a saree, looking both comical and endearing.
He couldn't suppress a chuckle, which only deepened the frown on Taniya's face.
"Go away; nahi chahiye aapki madad," she huffed, taking a step forward but stumbling as her foot caught in the fabric. Aditya was quick to catch her, preventing a fall.
"Chala inse Jaa nai Raha aur madam keh Rahi hai "I don't need your help," he teased, lifting her onto the dressing chair.
"Should I close my eyes?" he asked as she began to untangle herself from the saree.
