After sometime Aditya for his home office to get an important file while Taniya went straight to the balcony and gazed at the stars.
After a few minutes, she heard a knock on the door. She replied with a nonchalant "hmm" and saw Aditya entering. He walked toward her and stood beside her on the balcony.
Breaking the silence, Taniya said, "You don't need to knock every time. You told me it's our room, so that means it's also your room."
Aditya hesitated, not wanting to make her uncomfortable by suddenly barging into their shared space. "You can enter anytime," Taniya cut him off, emphasizing her point.
Once again, they both stood there in silence, gazing at the stars and enjoying the chilly evening.
This time, Aditya broke the silence and asked, "How was your day?"
"It was good," Taniya replied with a smile. "What about you?"
"Fine," Aditya said. "I heard bua came."
"Yeah," Taniya confirmed. "Dadu mentioned her arrival yesterday, and when I came back today, she was already here."
Aditya hummed in response. He wanted to know if his bua had said anything to Taniya. Given how she used to mock him, he expected nothing less for Taniya.
"Did bua behave nicely with you?" he finally asked.
Taniya smiled. "She seems to like Veer and Naira very much."
Aditya nodded. It was true that Kaamini liked Veer and Naira a lot, even before the marriage. She didn't hate him now, but she hadn't attended their wedding due to her feelings.
"Did she say anything to you?" Aditya further inquired.
"No," Taniya replied. "Was she supposed to?"
"Well," Aditya confessed, "bua and I aren't on good terms, so I thought maybe because of me..."
"Naira told me you rejected her daughter," Taniya said, understanding why his bua was upset. "Of course she would be mad at you."
"But don't you think I also have the right to choose my life partner?" Aditya questioned.
"You do," Taniya agreed. "Every human being does. But we girls don't often get that choice. And you arranged her marriage with someone else. Maybe she didn't want to marry him."
Taniya felt a little bad for Ahaana when she heard about Aditya arranging her wedding with someone else. She knew Aditya wouldn't choose anyone wrong for her, but she was still concerned.
Aditya continued, "I got her married to my secretary. Me and Ahaana were close friends; we don't have much of an age gap. She lived here for approximately 3 years while studying in college, and during that time, we grew close. Bua thought we were a good match, but I never saw her from that perspective."
He recounted the pivotal moment: "When bua arranged the date for us, I had a meeting that day. My secretary, Pratik came to me and kept the office I'd card and tablet on my desk and he said and I quote "The words I am going to say to you required me a lot of courage and I can't gather that courage being your secretary so I am resigning" and when I was about to question him about it he continued "I love Ahaana but I know you wouldn't let your family member get married to a mere employee but I really love her and I can't see her being your wife".'My love will never die.'"
Taniya listened attentively. "And then?"
"That impressed me very much but I still couldn't take Ahaana's life decision all by myself and that too when our families were trying to set us up.I went to the place that was decided for lunch to clear out things" Aditya said. "I was searching for Ahaana when her voice reached my ears. She called me 'bhaiya' for the first time in our whole life."
