Aditya came back and knelt at the edge of the bathtub, carefully cradling Taniya’s head against the rim as he rinsed her hair with the hand shower.
Once he was done, he wrapped her in a warm towel and lifted her into his arms, carrying her back to the bedroom.
He placed her gently on the bed and began drying her damp hair with another towel. Afterward, he picked out a thick shirt and a pair of warm trousers for her to wear.
As they lay together, curled into each other’s warmth, Taniya drifted back into sleep.
Aditya watched her peaceful face, tracing the soft rise and fall of her breaths until the thought of her clothes invaded his mind.
He didn't want to deal with laundry and there wasn't any service available nearby so, he decided to buy her a fresh pair instead.
He was exhausted from cleaning the hall and washing the bedsheets, but he still dragged himself out, driving to the nearest store.
When he returned, he carried her clothes and a few things he thought Taniya might like.
Stepping into the bedroom, he found her still asleep, curled up under the covers.
A small smile tugged at his lips and he quietly set the bags in the kitchen before slipping back into bed beside her.
As soon as he did, Taniya stirred in her sleep. Her eyes fluttered open, hazy with sleep. “Where were you? I called you so many times,” she mumbled, her voice laced with drowsiness.
Aditya pressed a kiss to her forehead. “Just getting a few things for us.”
She nodded, then turned towards him, wrapping her arms around his torso. “I love you,” she whispered, her lips brushing against his collarbone.
“Happy anniversary,” she added, leaning up to press a soft kiss on his lips.
Aditya smiled, his arms tightening around her. “Happy anniversary.”
“I wanted to wish you at midnight, but I fell asleep,” she said, her voice tinged with sadness.
He chuckled, running his fingers through her hair. “It’s okay. You’re still the first one to wish me.”
She snuggled deeper into his chest, then pulled back slightly with her brows furrowed “You didn’t wish me, though… Did you forget?”
Aditya smirked in response.“I didn’t forget. I just wanted to hear it from you first.”
He didn’t tell her that he had already wished her already or that he had ignored every call from his family so he could hear her wish him first.
Because, to him, her wish mattered the most.
Aditya propped himself up on his elbow. “So, how does it feel? Turning your "Aditya don’t stop" into reality?” he teased, his grin widening.
Taniya gasped, her cheeks flushing. “You scared me so much that day! I actually thought I forgot my first time. Stupid Adi!” She flicked his forehead, making him laugh.
His laughter softened as he gazed at her. “Okay, but… we didn’t use protection last night. If you get pregnant, are you ready for that?”
She smiled, eyes twinkling. “I am. I love kids.”
His smirk deepened. “Then don’t you think we should work a little harder for that?” He leaned over her, his lips brushing against hers before capturing them fully.
