Later on that night I woke up laying in a hospital bed with wires and needles hooked up to me, and also a heart monitor. "M-mom." I said groggily as my voice cracked. "Thank Goodness you're okay my baby boy!" My mother said to me as I was starting to wake up.
"Why am I here?!" I asked her. "You blacked out in the living room, and I called the ambulance because I wasn't sure what was going on with you." She explained to me. "But I missed my match, there's no way I'm gonna be captain now!" I said hysterically when suddenly I saw my father walk into my room.
"How is he?" My father asked my mother. "He's still a little bit out of it, he only just woke up a couple of minutes ago." My Mother told him. "Where's the doctor?" My Father asked. "He should be here soon for some blood work." My mother told him.
"I wanna go home Dad, please don't make me stay here." I said to my Dad hoping he'd sign me out of here. "Sorry son, but you're not going anywhere until we figure out why you blacked out." My father told me. I rolled my eyes and I tried to get out of bed but I couldn't get myself up.
"Coach is gonna be so disappointed in me, Jake is definitely gonna be captain now." I said to them. "None of that matters now Thomas, we could have lost you tonight." My father told me as he gave me a hug. Then he started to cry as he was hugging me and said, "I didn't realize you've lost so much weight you're practically skin and bones." My father cried as he stoped hugging me.
"Dad that's crazy!" "Do you even hear yourself?" I said to him as tears streamed down my face. That was the very first time I ever saw my father cry like that. Then my Mom got up from her chair and headed out into the hallway. I figured she wanted Dad to talk to me, father to son. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that, I just hate seeing you in pain like this." My Dad told me.
Just then my Mom walked in with the Doctor and he had a lot of papers in his hand. And in that moment I was feeling extremely nervous about what would be happening next. "Hello, Thomas I'm your Doctor it's nice to meet you." He said to me. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to. "I'm gonna need you to go into the exam room." The doctor said to me. "Excuse me doctor I'm his father and he can't really move to get out of bed." My Dad explained.
"Don't be silly." I said as I tried to get myself out of my hospital bed, I was trying to prove them wrong but it was no use I instantly fell back into my bed. "I see that might be a problem then." The Doctor said to us. "Well, I will figure some out then, but I do need to ask Thomas some questions." The Doctor said.
"Can my parents leave the room for this?" I asked the doctor. "I usually do that for this part." My Doctor explained. "We will go get some coffee together." My Father said to us. "Come one Lily let's go." My father told my Mom.
"I hear you're a wrestler." My Doctor said. "Yes, you'd be correct about that." I said to him. "So you exercise quite frequently then?" He asked me. "Oh yeah definitely, you know I run, lift weights and do a lot of cardio, you know mostly cardio." I said to the Doctor. "I see." The Doctor said.
"How does that make you feel Thomas?" My Doctor asked. "The exercise or wrestling?" I asked. "Both." The Doctor said. "I never really exercised much other than playing basketball with my friends up until I joined wrestling." "Then when practice for it started I started getting into working out and then I started running a lot like basically every day."
"But I mean I feel like I have to be perfect all the time you know like I want to look good when I'm out their in the wrestling ring." "So does everyone else, I mean it doesn't make sense to me how I even ended up here... I should be the Champion right now but instead I'm laying in a hospital bed weak and unable to move." I explained myself to my Doctor.
