ESTELLA'S POV
Dr. Vincent enters the surgery room, and soon the surgery begins. I watch intently as Dr. Vincent and Dr. Daniel engage in the delicate procedure. They carefully cut into Mrs. Easterwood's brain, revealing the intricate processes of brain surgery.
Suddenly, to our shock, Dr. Daniel faints mid-surgery. The room erupts into chaos as we all scramble to react. Dr. Vincent remains rooted in his place, knowing that even a moment's absence could have dire consequences for Mrs. Easterwood.
Seeing the urgency of the situation, I make a split-second decision. I know that I am the only one who can step in to assist Dr. Vincent, as I am familiar with the entire case. Without hesitation, I wash my hands and change into surgical scrubs, mask, and gloves.
With determination, I step up to help Dr. Vincent. Dr. Vincent and I exchanged a nod, silently reassuring each other that we were ready for the task ahead. With focused determination, we began the surgery.
Carefully making an incision in Mrs. Easterwood's swelling part of the brain, we exposed the area of the brain that needed attention.
We used specialized tools to gently navigate through the delicate tissues of the brain, working together seamlessly.
As we progressed through the surgery, we encountered various challenges. However, we remained calm and composed, relying on our training and expertise to overcome each obstacle.
Throughout the procedure, we communicated with each other in hushed tones, discussing our next steps and ensuring that we were always on the same page. We moved with precision and accuracy, knowing that even the slightest mistake could have serious consequences.
Despite the intense concentration required for such a complex surgery, we never lost sight of our patient's well-being. We constantly monitored Mrs. Easterwood's vital signs, adjusting our approach as needed to ensure her safety.
As the surgery progressed, we worked tirelessly, never once wavering in our commitment to our patient. We remained focused on the task at hand, determined to see the surgery through to its successful completion
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, we reached the end of the surgery. We carefully closed the incision in Mrs. Easterwood's scalp, taking care to ensure that everything was secure.
With a sense of relief and satisfaction, we stepped back from the operating table, knowing that we had done everything in our power to help Mrs. Easterwood. We spent 8 hours to complete the surgery.
Although Mrs. Easterwood still had a long road ahead of her, we were confident that we had given her the best possible chance at a successful recovery. As we left the surgery room, Vincent and I shared a brief moment of quiet celebration.
After completing the surgery, my mind was filled with a mix of emotions. Relief washed over me knowing that we had successfully completed the procedure, but I couldn't shake the thought of Alaric's reaction.
Dr. Vincent would have to provide all the details of the surgery to Alaric, and I knew he wouldn't take kindly to the fact that I had taken part in his grandmother's surgery.
As we left the operating room, I couldn't help but feel a sense of apprehension gnawing at me. Would Alaric confront me about my involvement in the surgery? Would he be angry or upset? These questions raced through my mind, overshadowing the sense of accomplishment I felt for helping Mrs. Easterwood.
Dr. Vincent must have sensed my unease because he placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "You did an excellent job in there, Estella," he said, his voice calm and steady. "Don't worry about Alaric. He may be surprised, but he'll understand that you were only trying to help."
I nodded, grateful for Dr. Vincent's words of encouragement. Deep down, though, I couldn't shake the feeling of uncertainty.
Alaric and I had once been close friends, but our relationship had soured over time. Would he see my actions as a betrayal, or would he understand the gravity of the situation?
As we made our way to the waiting where alaric i waiting for Dr. vincent, I couldn't help but steal glances at Dr. Vincent.
He seemed confident and composed, his demeanor unwavering in the face of uncertainty. I admired his strength and resolve, drawing comfort from his presence as we faced the unknown together.
AUTHOR'S POV
Estella and Dr. Vincent entered the waiting room, where Alaric was anxiously waiting. His eyes lit up as he saw us approach, and he hurried over to us, his expression a mixture of concern and anticipation.
"Tell me, how did the surgery go?" Alaric demanded, his voice edged with tension.
Dr. Vincent took a deep breath before responding, his tone calm and measured. "The surgery was successful," he began, his words carrying a note of relief.
"However, Mrs. Easterwood will need some time to recover, as she was already in a coma prior to the surgery. We will be closely monitoring her condition in the coming days."
Alaric nodded, his relief evident, but his expression soon darkened as Dr. Vincent continued to speak. Dr. Vincent explained how there had been an incident during the surgery, causing Dr. Daniel to faint. In response, Estella had stepped in to assist, ensuring that the surgery could continue without interruption.
Dr. Vincent emphasized the importance of transparency in medical care, explaining that it was crucial for maintaining trust and ensuring the well-being of the patient. He spoke highly of Estella's skills and dedication, praising her for her bravery and quick thinking in a challenging situation.
However, Alaric's initial relief quickly turned to anger as he processed Dr. Vincent's words. He felt betrayed and outraged that Dr. Vincent had allowed Estella to take part in the surgery, despite the medical committee's decision to restrict her involvement.
"How dare you!" Alaric shouted, his voice filled with fury. "You went against the medical committee's orders! Dr. Estella had no right to be in that surgery!"
"I will not stand for this!" Alaric continued, his voice rising to a crescendo of anger. "You have jeopardized my grandmother's life, and I will not let it go unpunished! I will file a case against both of you for causing harm to a patient's life!"
Dr. Vincent remained calm, his demeanor unwavering in the face of Alaric's outburst. "I understand your concerns, Alaric," he said, his tone measured and composed. "But Estella's expertise and knowledge were instrumental in ensuring the success of the surgery. We acted in the best interest of Mrs. Easterwood, and I stand by my decision."
Alaric was furious as he heard Dr. Vincent's response. "I will only be assured once I see my grandmother," he responded bitterly. He clenched his fists, the tension in the room was palpable as he waited for Dr. Vincent's next words.
Dr. Vincent remained calm and composed as he addressed Alaric's concerns. "You will have the chance to see your grandmother soon," he reassured him calmly. "However, the medical team needs time to move Mrs. Easterwood to the ICU. You have to wait for at least ninety minutes before she is ready for visitors."
Alaric's anger flared up again at the mention of the time frame. To him, ninety minutes felt like an eternity, and every passing second stretched out before him like an endless abyss of uncertainty and dread. He nodded in frustration, clenching his jaw tightly.
With a frustrated sigh, he turned and stormed out of the waiting room, leaving Estella and Dr. Vincent behind. they exchanged a glance filled with concern. The situation had escalated far beyond what they had anticipated, and they knew that they would need to tread carefully in the coming hours.
