AUTHOR'S POV

After about 20 minutes, Kevin entered Alaric's penthouse carrying a bag. Alaric took the bag from him, quickly unzipped it, and pulled out two sets of clothes. Inside were plain shirts, caps, and other items. Alaric handed a set to Ian.

"Change into these," Alaric instructed.

Ian nodded, and the two of them headed to separate rooms to get changed. When they returned, Alaric was dressed in a simple shirt, with dark glasses covering his eyes and a mask hiding most of his face.

Ian wore a similar outfit, with his head covered by a cap. Their casual appearances made it harder to recognize them, and they blended into the crowd much more easily.

Alaric turned to Kevin. "You stay here in the penthouse. Make sure to look after my grandmother and Charlotte. Keep monitoring our location and stay alert in case we call you for backup."

Kevin gave a quick nod. "Yes, sir. Stay safe."

With that, Alaric and Ian left the penthouse and headed to the parking area. They climbed into Kevin's car—a simple model that wouldn't draw any unnecessary attention. As Alaric started the engine, the tension in the air was palpable.

"I just hope Estella is alright, Ian," Alaric said quietly as the car began to move.

Ian glanced at him, his expression serious. "She'll be alright," he said firmly. "And we'll make sure those people pay for what they've done to her."

Alaric's grip tightened on the steering wheel, and he looked out the window, his jaw clenched. Hold on, Estella, he thought. We're coming for you.

ESTELLA'S POV

I was sitting in the room, thinking about what to do. I had the evidence that could prove about the racket but Vincent could hurt my friends and my father if I didn't act carefully. I couldn't let that happen. Soon, Vincent would come into the room to ask about the evidence. I had to stay calm.

The door opened, and Vincent walked in. Dr. Robert and Paul followed him. Vincent looked at me with cold eyes. "Are you ready to tell me where the evidence is?" he asked. He grabbed my jaw tightly, and it hurt a lot. Then, he put a gun to my forehead. I nodded my head slowly, feeling very scared.

"That's great," Vincent said with a scary smile. "Now, open your mouth and tell me." My voice shook as I whispered, "It's in my father's home locker. I can get it for you if you leave my friends and family alone."

Vincent laughed. "Do you think I'm a fool? I won't let you leave this place."

I looked at him and said, "I promise I won't do anything. Please believe me."

Vincent thought for a moment. "Okay, one last chance. But if you try to mess with me, Robert will kill your father."

"No! Please don't hurt my father!" I shouted. "I promise I won't do anything bad."

Vincent ordered Paul, "Tie her hands with ropes and take her to the car."

Paul nodded and walked toward me. He tied my hands tightly with a rope. I couldn't move my arms at all. Then, Paul pulled me up, and we started walking to the car. Vincent and Dr. Robert followed behind us.

When we got outside, I saw my chance. Last night, I had looked out the window and noticed the forest nearby. I knew it was my only way to escape. I took a deep breath, then pushed Paul as hard as I could. He stumbled back, and I started running toward the forest.

My hands were tied, so it was hard to move quickly. Branches scratched my arms and face. Thorns pricked my legs, and I almost tripped over roots and rocks. But I didn't stop. I had to get away.
