Estella and Alaric have been best friends since they were kids, and they've always been there for each other. But after a misunderstanding, Alaric started to hate Estella. So what happens when they meet up again after a few years? Will their differe...
Tonight is the dinner party, and my mind is all over the place. I can't stop thinking about Estella. Ever since I realized how I truly feel about her, I've been a nervous wreck. What if I accidentally tell her my feelings? I can't let that happen. Not yet. And then there's Dr. Vincent. The thought of him trying to date Estella makes my blood boil. How could he? Estella belongs to me. She's always been mine, even if she doesn't know it yet.
I take a deep breath as I finish getting dressed in my suit. I glance at myself in the mirror, adjusting my tie one last time. Tonight has to go perfectly, and I need to stay calm. I have to. There's no way I'm letting my emotions get the best of me.

After all, I'm picking up Victoria, my date for the evening. She's been a great friend from university, and thankfully, she has a boyfriend. That's a relief because it means my mom won't start pestering me about finding a girl again. She hasn't stopped since that whole Mia fiasco. But right now, all I care about is Estella.
I get into my car and drive towards Victoria's place to pick her up. When she gets in, she smiles at me, "Looking sharp, Alaric."
"Thanks, Victoria. You look great too," I say, keeping my thoughts on the event. Victoria's fun, and we're business partners, but there's nothing more between us. I like it that way.
"Ready for tonight?" Victoria asks with a playful grin.
"Yeah, let's get this over with," I say, trying to sound calm, but inside, my mind is racing.
We reach the venue, and there's media everywhere. I glance in the rearview mirror, checking my appearance one last time. Deep breath. Time to face the cameras. I step out first, offering my hand to Victoria as she gets out.
Together, we pose for the media, flashing polite smiles. I keep my face calm and composed, not letting any of the nervousness or anger show. Inside, the party is already in full swing.

The room is packed with people, and Victoria excuses herself to talk to some of her friends. I nod and let her go. Honestly, I don't mind. I need some space to clear my head anyway. I decide to look for Ian and Charlotte. It doesn't take long to find them, chatting near one of the tables. I walk over, and they greet me with warm smiles.
