ALARIC'S POV

I feel so suffocated, as if the walls are closing in on me. My thoughts are a chaotic mess, swirling like a storm that has torn through my life, leaving nothing untouched. Everything that has just happened feels surreal, as if I'm trapped in a nightmare I can't wake up from.

I'm lost in my thoughts when Albert's voice breaks through, shouting, "Madam, are you okay?" I snap out of it and see my grandmother fainting. Estella rushes to her side, checking on her, and immediately calls for us to take her to the hospital. She's weak, and it's clear she needs medical help.

We rush to the hospital with my grandmother, anxiety gripping me tightly. The doctors admit her and start examining her, leaving us all standing nervously in the lobby. I can't bear the thought of losing my grandmother again. We've only just got her back, and now this.

As I stand there, lost in my turmoil, I feel a gentle touch on my hand. I look down and see my mother standing beside me. Her eyes are filled with concern as she and my father guide me to a quieter corner of the hospital lobby.

"Alaric," my mother begins softly, "we've contacted the lawyer and mentioned everything that's happened."

I frown, not understanding what she's talking about. "What are you saying, Mom? Why did you call a lawyer? What reason could there be for that right now?"

She shakes her head, turning to my father. "Darling, you explain it to him. Our poor boy is so naive."

My father nods and looks at me, his expression serious. "We spoke to the lawyer about Mia's property. He said that they would prepare the papers, and once we get Mia to sign them, we can claim all of her property."

As his words sink in, a cold, burning rage starts to build inside me. I can't believe what I'm hearing. They're talking about Mia's property? After everything we just discovered about her, all the lies, the betrayals, the attempted murders, they're still thinking about property?

I snap, unable to contain the fury boiling within me. "Are you both out of your minds?" I shout, my voice echoing through the lobby. "We just found out the truth about Mia! That woman killed her parents, tried to kill my grandmother twice, and betrayed us all these years. And you're still thinking about her property? Do I even matter to you? Am I your real son, or did you just adopt me?"

My father's face turns red with anger, and he shouts back, "Alaric, think before you speak!. But I can't stop. The floodgates of frustration and hurt burst open.

"You both are my parents, but that respect I had for you is gone after hearing your conversation. Did you even stop to think about how I'm feeling after everything that's happened? My life has just been turned upside down, and all you can talk about is Mia's property. Just leave me alone, both of you!"

My father looks shocked by my outburst, and my mother's eyes fill with tears. But I can't take it back. The words are out there, and I mean every one of them. They may have their reasons, but right now, all I feel is betrayal. How could they be so focused on something as trivial as property when my whole world is falling apart?

My mother reaches out to me, trying to comfort me, but I step back. "Please, just go," I say, my voice barely above a whisper. "I need some time alone."

My parents exchange a glance, and I can see the hurt in their eyes, but I can't deal with that right now. They slowly turn and walk away, leaving me standing there, feeling more alone than ever. I lean against the wall, trying to steady my breathing. My heart feels like it's been ripped out of my chest.
