AUTHOR'S POV
Alaric thought about Ian's advice. He nodded, deciding to try his best. Alaric wanted to show Estella just how generous and kind he could be, and he was determined to prove that he would make a great partner for her.
He often thought about ways to make her smile. One sunny day, he decided to bring her lunch at the hospital where she worked. Alaric packed a delicious sandwich, some crunchy apple slices, and a sweet chocolate muffin, which he knew was her favorite. When he arrived, Estella's face lit up with joy.
"Wow, Alaric! You didn't have to do this!" she said, looking surprised.
"I wanted to! You work so hard, and I thought you might enjoy a nice lunch," he replied with a big smile. Alaric felt proud to make her happy.
Sometimes, Alaric would pick Estella up from the hospital after her long shifts. He loved seeing her tired smile turn into a bright one when she saw him. He would say, "Let's go grab dinner, or maybe catch a movie!" This made Estella excited, and she often agreed.
When Alaric, Estella, Ian, and Charlotte went out together, they had the best time. They laughed a lot during their movie nights, shared popcorn, and sometimes even went to clubs to dance. They also enjoyed picnics in the park, where they would eat sandwiches and play games. Alaric loved watching Estella enjoy herself, and he always made sure she had a great time.
On weekends, they would all gather at Alaric's house. They loved talking and sharing stories from high school. They would watch old movies and shows they used to enjoy. One day, while they were all sitting in the living room, Alaric had an idea. He thought he could bake something special for Estella.
"Let's make cupcakes!" he announced. Ian and Charlotte joined in, and soon the kitchen was filled with laughter and flour. Alaric felt so happy when Estella arrived and saw all the cupcakes. "They look amazing!" she exclaimed. He felt proud of himself and enjoyed seeing her excitement.
Alaric also liked to bring flowers for Estella sometimes. He would surprise her with colorful blooms or sweet little cupcakes when they all went out to lunch or dinner together. As Ian would always bring treats for Charlotte, so Alaric thought, "I should do the same for Estella!" He wanted her to know he cared about her and was thinking of her.
As Alaric worked hard to show how generous he could be, Ian noticed. "You're doing a great job, Alaric. I think Estella really appreciates everything you do for her," he said with a smile. Alaric felt happy to hear that and hoped maybe one day, Estella would see him as more than just a friend.
One evening, after a nice dinner, they were all sitting in Alaric's living room.
"Let's watch one of those old shows we used to watch in high school!" Estella suggested, her eyes bright with excitement.
Charlotte giggled, "Oh, this is going to be hilarious! It's been ages since I watched those shows. Come on, guys, let's do it!"
They sat together in Alaric's cozy home theater, debating what to watch. Charlotte suggested Gilmore Girls, while Ian threw out a few other drama ideas.
Finally, they all agreed to watch The Office, excited for some laughs. Charlotte and Ian cuddled up close, clearly happy to share the moment. Alaric sat beside Estella, glancing at her whenever she laughed.
Alaric felt happy seeing Estella smile. He also enjoyed the show, laughing along with their friends.
Suddenly, Estella's phone rang. She excused herself to take the call. Alaric and Ian went to the kitchen to grab some drinks.
