AUTHOR'S POV
Alaric, Dr. Vincent, and Estella are in the recording room of the hospital, where all the CCTV footage is kept. The room is filled with state-of-the-art equipment: multiple monitors displaying various parts of the hospital, a central control panel with numerous buttons and switches, and several high-tech computers connected to the hospital's security network.
The atmosphere is tense as Dr. Vincent orders the staff to check all recordings near the private room where Mrs. Easterwood is being cared for. They are determined to find out who added drugs to her body the previous day.
"Check all the footage from yesterday, especially around Mrs. Easterwood's room," Dr. Vincent commands, his voice steady but strained.
The staff members nod and begin sifting through the recordings. Alaric stands nearby, his fists clenched and his jaw tight. His eyes are glued to the screens, his patience wearing thinner by the minute. Estella stands beside him, her hand resting lightly on his arm in an attempt to offer some comfort, though she knows it's futile.
Minutes pass, and the tension in the room continues to rise. Alaric's fury is palpable, his anger intensifying with each passing second as they fail to find any incriminating evidence.
"What's taking so long?" Alaric snaps, his voice laced with frustration.
"We're going as fast as we can sir," one of the staff members replies nervously, his fingers flying over the keyboard as he fast-forwards through the footage.
Finally, they reach the footage from the previous night, only to find that the recording from 8 PM to 9 PM is missing.
"Wait a minute," one of the staff members says, frowning at the screen. "The recording from 8 PM to 9 PM is gone."
Alaric's face contorts with rage. "What do you mean, gone?" he shouts, turning on Dr. Vincent. "This is your bloody security? Someone enters my grandmother's hospital room and drugs her, and now you're telling me the recording is missing? What excuses are you going to give me now?"
Dr. Vincent remains silent, his face pale. Estella looks at the floor, understanding Alaric's anger but unable to offer any solution. The room is silent except for the hum of the machines.
Alaric's voice trembles with fury. "Your chance and time are over. Now I will show you what Alaric Easterwood can do."
Without another word, he storms out of the recording room, his face a mask of determination and wrath. Once outside, he pulls out his phone and dials his assistant, Kevin.
"Get the best hacker you can find and bring him to the hospital within two hours," he commands, his voice leaving no room for argument. "I don't care what it costs or how you do it. I want a hacker here, now."
Hanging up the phone, Alaric stands in the hallway, his mind racing. He won't let this go. Someone is going to pay for what they've done to his grandmother, and he will stop at nothing to find out who it is.
Back in the recording room, Dr. Vincent and Estella exchange worried glances. They know Alaric is not one to make empty threats, and his determination to uncover the truth is both a relief and a cause for concern. They can only hope that whoever tampered with the footage and harmed Mrs. Easterwood will be caught before Alaric's wrath brings more chaos.
Two hours later, Alaric's assistant arrives at the hospital with a young, confident-looking hacker named Liam. His eyes sparkle with excitement at the challenge ahead.
"Mr. Easterwood, this is Liam. He's the best in the business," the assistant introduces.
Alaric wastes no time. "Liam, I need you to find out what happened to the missing footage from last night, 8 PM to 9 PM. I don't care how you do it, just get it done."
