Liverra's POV
–
"Indoor, of course, the weather's not good."
Actually, it was only light rain, but the Chief insisted on an indoor meeting even though Felix had booked an outdoor table. Some members complained because they wanted to enjoy the garden, but then as Maddie showed up from her car, all the members finally understood.
I didn't understand what this girl was thinking. Even though the weather wasn't too cold yet, it was still too cold for what she was wearing right now. She wore a beige tube top, a short skirt that exposed her thighs, and a thin scarf to slightly cover her body. It was enough to attract attention when others were wearing jackets, trousers, or at least long sleeves.
"Mads, just back from the party?" Carter– I didn't know if he was being sarcastic or truly praising her, smirked as everyone sat around the table and started preparing their notes and laptops. I tried to ignore them even though my ears were wide open. How could it not be, I had to sit on Chan's left as the Vice and Maddie on his right– which should have been Allina's seat. The secretary finally chose to sit to my left in a mood that didn't seem good.
"Uhm– no, but I want to go on a date after this." Maddie smiled as she put her arm around Chan's. Oh– I didn't know he had a date planned today after he took care of me this morning, but I didn't need to interfere in other people's relationships. I pretty much knew my position.
"Don't cling to me, I should start the meeting." Eventually, Chan whispered in an unpleasant tone towards her, which of course I could hear clearly.
"I'm feeling cold, Chan. I know you insisted on meeting indoors because of me but it's not enough. Can you just hug me a bit or lend me your jacket?"
What the hell was this girl doing? Right, before I almost threw up hearing her voice– I immediately put the airpods in my right ear. At least it's better to just hear Allina's grumps–
"You are no longer a child, Maddie. Should already know how to dress according to the situation and weather!" Chan's loud snapping was enough to make all the members look at them. It's really awkward considering that this was probably the first time he behaved like this towards The Queen Bee, and this was also the first time Maddie acted unprofessionally as if implying that her super-boyfriend would be taken by someone else. She seemed to be trying hard to get Chan's attention by showing her skin like that.
And Maddie of course couldn't act anymore. From the corner of my eye I could see her let go of her grip and stay silent, looking down as if holding back shame. Several pro-Maddie people started to cheer her up. I realized that 'Queen Bee' wasn't always a good term– which suited her perfectly.
My head started to hurt from this annoying drama. I touched my forehead, which felt increasingly burning again, but I ignored it because Allina seemed to notice something strange about me. "Liv, are you okay?"
"Yeah." I smiled, nodding at her. She then reached into her bag and handed me some medicine. I shook my head, but Allina insisted.
"Take it to the restroom, I know you don't want anyone noticing." She whispered.
"Thanks."
The meeting finally started and all the divisions shared their updates for the job desc. This trip would be held next three weeks so Chan reminded us to be healthy. The plan was that some of the committee will leave two days earlier to prepare the venue, while the rest will leave at d-day with all the new students. We started to discuss which SA members were leaving first. Automatically, The Executives would be there first which means: me, Chan, Allina, and Felix, plus several members who will be selected today—
