Chan's POV

"What the heck is going on? Are we under attack?"

Allina, who was confused by this situation, could only ask in panic without anyone giving an answer. Not only her, but others too. Seeing me suddenly had a serious face with my hands protecting Liv's body, they began to realize that there was something threatening her.

I saw Minho and his team arrive at the scene. They looked around, could be assumed those people had run off. But of course they were probably still around here. This place was too huge, it was too difficult to comb every part of this place one by one. It was possible that they were hiding in a spot that was rarely touched by the villa management.

"Are there any of your fans who didn't like you being around a girl?" Jisung spoke— even though he was starting to panic because he knew what was happening— to cover up the suspicions of my own friends. Moreover, no one knew that Allina could also be involved but she pretended to be innocent. Just in case.

"That's so stupid." I took a rough breath.

"But Chief—" This time Hyunjin, the witness, chimed in. "Is there a girl that tall at our Uni? I saw that person was almost as high as the entrance fence. Meanwhile, the other one is a bit short."

"It could be that she's a member of the volleyball team, and the other person just happens to be someone with low calcium. Or just a boy. Or it could be that they're not targeting anyone." Changbin, who didn't have any idea about what happened, shared his opinion. "Could there be any movie shooting around here?"

"I don't think so. Look, the management intervened. And Liv looked scared too." Felix said while looking at Liv.

Felix was right. When I looked at her, she squeezed my arm with both hands. As if in reaction to what Hyunjin saw, her eyes widened, cold sweat began to drip down her forehead, and her face turned pale. I was sure she remembered the 'black-robes-with-clown-mask' who were also in different heights.

"Don't follow us and don't ask."

I issued an order without waiting for their answer, immediately taking Liv away from them, anywhere as long as no one saw us. I took off her helmet, placed it on a nearby table, then brought her body to mine in a warm embrace. I was grateful that she didn't refuse but instead hid her face in my chest.

"Chan—"

"I know. You're safe with me." I stroked her back gently, kissed the top of her head. "Don't think too much about it because Minho surely does his best to ensure security. I've asked him to cooperate with a police officer from my dad's relatives."

"Did you know the possibility of this happening?"

"No. I didn't hope for that. But I want to make sure everyone is safe, especially you. I don't want anyone to hurt you. I want to protect you to the best of my ability."

Liv didn't answer, instead she let go of her hug and looked at me. She looked at her feet for a moment and fiddled with her fingers before looking back at me with puppy-eyes. Damn! Why did she always drive me crazy with this kind of behavior?

"I'm sorry."

"For w-what?" I said nervously.

"About Jaehyun. This is my fault, I should have understood your feelings better because after all you have the right to be angry. You're the most important person to me. You're my husband. My partner. And don't worry because I texted him that I love someone else and can't accept his feelings. He said that's okay and told me to keep the necklace— just to consider it as a friendship gift. I honestly want to return it— umph—"
