An open wound, a gaping hole,
A pain that's deep within my soul.
It throbs and aches, it won't subside,
This wound that I can't seem to hide.
It's there for all the world to see,
This wound that's taken hold of me.
It's raw and red, it's hard to bear,
This wound that's left me in despair.
I try to cover it with care,
To hide the wound that's always there.
But still it oozes, still it bleeds,
This wound that's planted all its seeds.
It's hard to heal, it takes its time,
This wound that's left me in the grime.
But still I hope, I still believe,
This wound will heal and I'll be free.
