A letter

A letter, a simple thing,
A message sent on paper's wing,
A heartfelt word, a thoughtful note,
A treasure that we often wrote.

In days gone by, it was the way,
To send our love from far away,
To share our joys and sorrows too,
And keep our friendships strong and true.

With pen in hand and heart aglow,
We'd pour our feelings out just so,
We'd tell of dreams and hopes and fears,
And dry each other's lonely tears.

The words we wrote were more than ink,
They held the essence of how we think,
They spoke of love and life's design,
And all the things that make us shine.

The letter's power lies within,
The message that it holds within,
For though it's just a simple thing,
It's the love it brings that makes it sing.

So let us cherish letters still,
And keep alive this time-honored thrill,
For in our words we can reveal,
The love and joy that we all feel.
