Secrets, oh secrets, what do you hold?
Stories untold, mysteries unfold,
Hidden away, deep in the heart,
Silent whispers, that tear us apart.
Secrets can be a burden to bear,
A weight on our shoulders, hard to share,
They can eat at us, day and night,
A constant struggle, a constant fight.
Some secrets are meant to be kept,
To protect the ones we love, to intercept,
The pain and the hurt that we might cause,
To keep the peace, to avoid the flaws.
But secrets can also be a gift,
A treasure to hold, a memory to lift,
A bond with another, so true and pure,
A promise to keep, forevermore.
Secrets can be the key to the heart,
A way to connect, a place to start,
To build a bridge, to heal a wound,
To bring us together, as one, attuned.
So secrets, oh secrets, what do you hold?
The power to hurt, or the power to unfold,
The choice is ours, to keep or to share,
To let them go, or to hold them with care.
