Within my heart there lies a weight,
A sloth that's forever late,
I cannot bear to lift a finger,
And in my laziness, I tend to linger.
I cannot muster up the drive,
To try my best and stay alive,
I'd rather sit and waste my time,
And in my sloth, I've lost my prime.
But sloth is like a heavy chain,
That holds me down and brings me pain,
And soon I'll find that I am lost,
At such a dear and bitter cost.
So let me shed this lazy heart,
And from this deadly sin depart,
For in diligence I'll find peace,
And all my sloth will finally cease.
