I fought and struggled, tried to cling,
To what I thought was mine.
But all in vain, for time would bring,
An end to what was fine.
And so I learned, to let things go,
To hold them loosely in my hand.
And trust that life would let me know,
When it was time to take a stand.
For letting go is not defeat,
But wisdom in disguise.
A chance to grow, to learn, to meet,
New blessings in disguise.
So now I face each change with grace,
And open up my heart.
To all the beauty that takes place,
When I let go and start.
