Fake

Fake, oh fake, what a tangled web you weave,
A mask you wear, a persona you leave,
You hide behind a façade, a charade,
A masquerade that you have made.

You pretend to be someone you're not,
And you hope that nobody will spot,
The lies and the deceit that you spread,
The web of untruths that you have led.

Fake smiles, fake laughs, fake words that you speak,
A front that you put on, so others won't seek,
The truth that lies beneath the guise,
The reality that you so despise.

But in the end, fake will be revealed,
The mask will fall, the truth will be unsealed,
And what then, when all is said and done,
And you're left with nowhere to run?

Embrace the real, the true, the you,
And let go of the fake that you once knew,
For in the end, it's only yourself that you deceive,
And the real you is always worth the believe.
