Gluttony

Within my heart there lies a void,
A gluttony that's forever employed,
I crave the taste of all that's sweet,
And in my hunger, I cannot retreat.

I cannot bear to stop and think,
And gorge until my body sinks,
I stuff my face with all that's there,
And in my gluttony, I do not care.

But gluttony is a poison strong,
That eats away my soul for long,
And soon I'll find that I am lost,
At such a dear and bitter cost.

So let me shed this greedy heart,
And from this deadly sin depart,
For in moderation I'll find peace,
And all my gluttony will finally cease.
