Anger

Within my heart there lies a storm,
An anger that's forever born,
I feel the rage rise up inside,
And in my fury, I cannot hide.

I cannot bear the slightest slight,
And lash out with all my might,
I spew out words so cruel and sharp,
And in my anger, I leave a mark.

But anger is a poison strong,
That eats away my soul for long,
And soon I'll find that I am lost,
At such a dear and bitter cost.

So let me shed this wrathful heart,
And from this deadly sin depart,
For in forgiveness I'll find peace,
And all my anger will finally cease.
