Chapter 14 Sophia saw the silver moon ring with Stella.

Isabella's tiny hands rapped around Stella's neck trying to seek comfort. Sophia looked at the two of them and wasn't happy. She couldn't sow discord between this two.

Sophia was about to turn around and walk away when a sharp light suddenly flashed into her eyes. " Ah!" She quickly covered the light.

Stella angrily looked at Sophia and was about to walk away with Isabella when Sophia hurriedly stopped her. She happened to see a silver ring in Stella's ring finger.

" Stella wait, can I see you ring finger, I want to see the ring on your hand." Sophia said as she tried to grab Stella's hand but Stella was quick to push her away.

" Stella wait!" Sophia shouted but Stella had already walked away. Did her eyes see it right or was Stella wearing the silver moon ring. No, it can't be, Stella can't be the girl Reagan was talking about.

But she had the moon ring with her, did that mean that Stella was Reagan's wife. No, this can't be. Sophia's mind was in a state of panic.

Could it be that the man from that night was Reagan, how could she be so careless, if Stella found out that Reagan was the man from that night, then everything would be over for her. She clearly remembered Stella saying that she would come back for revenge.

If she told Reagan everything they did to her then the Brooks family would be done for.

No, she needs to get that ring. A lowly person like Stella doesn't deserve to be a wife in the Brighton's family.

Sophia's mind quickly put things together. It looked like Reagan hadn't found her yet if not he could have already brought her back to the Brighton family.

He wouldn't have left her and her daughter alone. Since Reagan hadn't seen her, it meant that he didn't remember who the girl from that night was. What a great opportunity for her.

Sophia smiled as an evil plan popped up in her head. Watching Stella's departing figure, she couldn't hide the deep resentment she had towards her.

Stella had always outshined her and Sophie since they were kids. Stella was a pure beauty, her good looks were obviously gotten from Amelia which was Stella's mother. It was said that Stella's mum and Gabriel, Stella's dad were highschool lovers. But because of her background, Gabriel's mother didn't allow them to be together.

Along the line, someone lied to Gabriel that Amelia had cheated on him with a boy he didn't like at that time, and that led to Gabriel breaking up with Amelia.

Something happened one night, Gabriel got drunk in a bar and his drink was spiked. Amelia happened to be in the same bar that night. She saw that her ex highschool lover was drunk and looked like he had been drugged.

She only helped him into a room and was about to go and call for help but she did not expect Gabriel to lock the door and push her into the bed.

She shouted and pushed Gabriel with all her might but Gabriel seemed to be under the control of the drug. He forced himself on her.

When it was morning, he woke up and saw Amelia's half naked body laying next to him. He panicked and immediately denied the fact that he slept with her.

Amelia didn't agree and angrily marched to the Brooks family house after he left. She told the old grandpa everything that Gabriel did to her, the old man allowed her to stay and give birth to the child which was Stella.

Stella grew up in the Brooks family and was always mistreated.

All these informations were discovered by Sophia when she was looking for a file in her dad's study. It was a letter written by Amelia, she also found an apology letter, it was her father's handwriting, she checked the date on the top of the paper, that was when she realized that the same date on the paper was the same date Amelia had an accident.

It was already too late for Gabriel to apologize. After her death, everytime he saw Stella, he felt guilty and sorrowful. He didn't want her to stay any longer so he tried to send her away but the old man didn't agree to it.

Sophia sighed, the old man really cherished Stella but now that he was in his death bed, he couldn't do anything about it.

The old lady never liked Stella and her mum. She always conspired with Stella's stepmom to frame Amelia and they finally succeeded.

Sophia looked at Stella standing outside the supermarket before pushing her shopping cart away. She will look for a way to get that ring.

Stella stood under a shade outside the supermarket. The rain all of a sudden increased. Some other people also stood under the shade.

Isabella held a doll in one hand and the other one held a bag of cheese balls. Her tiny mouth moved up and down and her puffed pink cheeks made her look more cute.

Stella's phone dinged with a message, she first looked at Isabella to make sure that she was beside her before taking out her phone from her bag.

It was a message from Genevieve asking if they were already on their way home.

Isabella looked around and saw an old lady sitting on a chair. She was elegantly dressed but her clothes were not too flashy and it didn't attract too much attention.

She ran and stood in front of the old lady and smiled, stretching out her small chubby hand, she placed her doll on the old woman's hand.

The old woman smiled and reached out to hug Isabella. At this point, Stella had already sent a reply to Genevieve, after keeping her phone, she looked beside her only to see an empty spot. Her eyes quickly searched around.

Where did this little brat go. Stella mind was in chaos, her imagination started running wild. Could it be that someone had picked her up when she wasn't looking.

Just as Stella was about to go crazy, she saw a little figure hugging an old woman. " Isabella!" Stella quickly ran to meet her.

" Isabella, why did you run away without telling mummy, you almost made me go crazy!" Stella said as she bent down and hugged her.

" Sorry mummy, I won't do it again." Isabella replied with her head down, showing a sorry expression.

Seeing her sad expression, Stella quickly comforted her, " No, mummy didn't mean to shout at you, I panicked when I couldn't find you beside me, don't be sad if not mummy will be sad too."

Isabella quickly raised her head and hugged Stella. " Don't be sad mummy, I won't do it again, please don't be sad because of me." A small tear dropped from the corner of her eyes.

The old lady smiled seeing the two of them. From one look she could tell that Stella was a single mother. Poor child. Her expression showed pity for Stella but she still wanted to ask who the father was because the child looked like someone she knew.

" Mum, look at my new friend." Isabella said as she pointed at the old lady.

Stella showed respect and greeted the old lady.

" Your daughter is so cute and adorable, who's her father, she doesn't look like you that much." The old lady said with her eyes on Isabella. She was sure that Isabella's face matched with someone she knew.

Hearing her question, Stella didn't know what to say. She didn't want to say something that will make Isabella sad.

The old lady looked at Stella's sad face and said, " Sorry my child, I didn't mean to bring up your past memories, I just wanted to ask because her face looks familiar."

Stella nodded her head, " Lots of people look alike in this world, even me, I have seen somebody she resembles but I can't just go and false him to take care of her."

The old lady smiled in understanding. " Ok, forget what I said."

" Mummy, the rain has stopped, you can call a taxi now." Isabella said.
Stella left Isabella with the old lady and went to look for a taxi.

Minutes later, she comes back with one. " Isabella, let's go." Stella said as she came out from the back.

" Ok mummy." She said as she waved at the old lady.
Stella didn't feel like leaving the old lady alone. " Why don't you come with us, we can drop you off at home, it's already getting dark and it may be hard to get another taxi." Stella said.

" Yes come with us." Isabella shouted from inside the car.
Seeing both of them urging her to come, she smiled and stood up from where she sat.
