"There's a party tomorrow evening. Come with me so I can introduce you to some of my friends." Clinton said.

She nodded without looking up from her plate. Finally, she gets to go outside. She has been locked inside the walls of this apartment ever since Clinton returned.

He made her feel like a rabbit in a cage. Stella finished her meal before going back to her room. She had her bath and laid on the bed, before eventually falling asleep.

The next day, Clinton left the apartment before Stella woke up. He left a message on a piece of paper, saying he had something important to take care of.

She didn't even bother to think what it was he had to do.

Stella stood up from the bed and went to take a shower. After she was done, she locked her room door and brought out the phone.

A message was waiting in her inbox. She tapped on it and saw it was from the same unknown sender. The message read, "Where are you, I want to come see you. I miss you."

The unknown sender now had a profile pic and when she clicked on it, her heart skipped a beat. It was him.

She hit the reply button. "I miss you too." She sent the message and waited but there was no reply.

She can't deny the fact that she really wants to see him. She wants him to hug her, hold her but she couldn't let Clinton find out about it.

Tonight might be her chance to see him. Why was she so happy when it came to him?

Stella suddenly felt bad for cheating Clinton. He went through a lot for her yet she was seeing another man behind his back.

He'd be heartbroken if he found out about this. Stella sighed as she looked at the message she sent. Since he hasn't seen it, maybe she should just delete it.

Knock! Knock!!

Stella's eyes shot up. Good thing she locked the door. She turned off the phone and tiptoed to the wardrobe, placing it back into its hiding spot. She stopped at looked at the phone, she hasn't deleted the message.

Knock! Knock!!

It sounded again, this time, heavier.

Stella decided to just leave it. She walked to the door and fixed her expression before opening it.

"Stella, what were you doing?" Clinton asked, looking into her room for any unusual sign.

"N...nothing!" She replied, thinking of what to say. "I felt scared and unsafe when I found out you were not at home, so I locked my room door, in case someone broke in." She replied and the frown on his face relaxed.

He walked forward and hugged her, patting her head. "I'm sorry I left you alone. I had something to do but I forgot you are more important than my work. Next time, I'll bring you along, ok?"

Stella nodded, not that she was happy about it, but because she had to make him believe her.

She awkwardly breaks off from his hug, looking down to avoid his gaze. Her body craved for a hug but, not from him.

"What time is the party?" She asked, trying to change the topic.

"7pm. Your dress will be sent over before then."

"Ok."

"Have you had breakfast yet?" Clinton asked, scratching the back of his head.

"No, I've not."

"Come, I'll make breakfast for you."

Clinton led the way as they walked into the kitchen. She sat on the stool beside the counter and kept herself busy with a cooking magazine.
