Just as she was about to pull open the drawer, the office door opened and she heard two people talking. Just then, the door closed. Footsteps approaching but it stopped.
She looked up and her eyes met with the man standing in front of the table.
"Stella."
Her eyes widened. It was him—
Reagan stood shocked in the center of the office. He thought he was seeing things. Stella was in his office, sitting on his chair.
Stella looked at the man standing in front of the table. She saw the surprise on his face. He was walking towards her but she didn't know how to react. Her eyes followed him until he was now standing in front of her.
"Stella." He called softly as he stretched out his hand.
Stella didn't know why but she took his hand and he raised her up, pulling her directly into his arms.
She felt something in her chest as he leaned down and buried his head in her neck. His hands slipped around her waist and he pulled her closer.
"Stella, I missed you." He mumbled and she could hear the emotions in his voice.
"Boss, the files are here..." A voice called out but stopped at the sight of what was going on in the office.
Stella quickly pushed him away and turned to the other side of the office.
"What is it?" Reagan asked, annoyed by his sudden appearance.
"These are the files. I'll just drop them and leave." The man said as he dropped a small stack of files on the table before hurrying out.
The door closed shot and there was silence in the room.
"Stella." Reagan called as he grabbed her hand but she pushed his hands off.
"I came here to tell you something, not to flirt with you."
Reagan retreated his hand as she turned to face him. "What is it?" He asked.
"Release Clinton. I went to visit him earlier and the police told me I couldn't see him because of his condition. What did you do to him?"
Reagan turned around and walked towards the window. "Didn't I tell you to stay in the hotel and rest. Why are you worried about that soon-to-be dead man?" He asked.
Stella's eyes widened at his words. She followed him and stood in front of him, blocking his path. "What do you mean by soon-to-be dead man. If anything happens to Clinton, I'll never forgive you." She shouted.
Reagan looked at her angry face then threw his gaze to the window. "If only you had your memory, you would have remembered how Clinton betrayed you four years ago. You should go back before it's late."
"Stop acting like you care about me."
Reagan's gaze shifted to her face. His face was covered with regret. "It's my fault you lost your memory. I couldn't protect you. I really care about you Stella. I woke up early to prepare your favorite soup..."
"I didn't eat it. There was too much curry in it." She lied.
"But Blake came back minutes ago with a note you wrote, saying you wanted more for lunch and dinner."
Stella was speechless. So he has been the one sending her those things. If she had known, she wouldn't have accepted them.
"Still, it doesn't change anything. Release Clinton or I'll run into the road on my way back." She threatened.
Reagan took a step closer. "That's if I let you leave."
Stella's eyes widened as she staggered backward. Reagan didn't stop, he continued walking towards her until she was cornered by the window behind her.
