Chapter 52 Moving to a new house.

Sophia and Katherine were taken to the Brighton's police station. Sophie, Gabriel and old Mary came to visit them.

Sophie was thankful for the fact that she didn't involve herself in Sophia and her mum's affairs if not, she could have been locked up along with them.

She knew she did some bad things before but truth be told, she wasn't as evil as Sophia was.

Most of the things she did where due to the pressure Sophia put on her. She was the angel twin while Sophia was the devil twin.

Looking at Sophia and her mum, she felt pity for them. They might never come out of jail.

Gabriel had been out of the country for long. He didn't expect to get a call that his wife and daughter were being arrested. He had to board a quick flight back to Country X.

The two discovery that shocked him the most was when he heard that Stella had a three year old daughter and her mum he thought died years ago was still alive and healthy.

For some reason, he felt sad and angry with himself. He deserved whatever was happening to him now. Back then when he thought Stella's mum was dead, he would secretly go to her grave at night. He will sit close to it for some hours and tell her how bad his day was without her. He apologized and told her he wished she was still alive.

You know the saying' You Don't Value Something Until You Lose It', it was like that statement was made because of him because he didn't value Stella and her mum back then.

After her mum died and Stella left the Brooks family, reality hit him and discovered that they were the only ones that truly cared about him.

Katherine was all about his money while his two daughters were busy scanning through the wealthy young masters in the socialist circle, looking for the one that suit their taste.

None of them really cared for him the way Stella and her mum did. After Stella left the Brooks family, he had been looking for ways to bring her back but didn't know how so he decided to use an unknown number to message her, sending her pictures of her mum she hadn't seen before so he could get her to meet with him but he failed. She didn't fall for it, she even blocked the number he used.

He decided to give up and leave the country for some days but days turned to weeks, weeks turned to months and months turned to years.

He used traveling out for business as an excuse to leave the country so he could be alone. Now that he's back, he is going to make things right.

Gabriel sighed and looked at Sophia as she was being taken away. Young but had the vicious mind of her mother right from birth.

At least Sophie took after his calm and composed nature.

" Dad, are they going to be alright?" Sophie asked, looking at Gabriel with a sad look on her face.

Gabriel sighed and shook his head." I don't know Sophie."

" Your wife and daughter are being locked up and you are standing here doing nothing about it." Old Mary asked in a slightly angered tone.

Gabriel turned to face her." What am I supposed to do. The Brighton's family won't let them go."

Gabriel's phone vibrated and a call came through from his assistant.

" Boss, I don't know what's happening, the Brooks stocks are plummeting and our investors are redrawing their investment. The shareholders are gathering at the meeting hall and they are waiting for you to come and give an explanation to what's happening." His assistant said over the phone.

Gabriel closed his eyes and pinched the spaces between his brows." I'll be there in a minute." He ended the call and looked at the old lady.

" I have to leave. There's something important I have to attend to at the company. Go home early." He said then walked out.
