"Interviews will be taking place next week. Your adapted resume has already been sent in," Chief Pike speaks, looking at agent Griffin, who is listening intently, occasionally taking notes.
Clarke Griffin had been working on the Trikru Inc. case for many weeks now, gathering as much information on the business, its employees, and especially its CEO as possible since the FBI had received an anonymous tip that Trikru Inc. was involved in embezzlement and whitewashing practices.
And during these many weeks, herself, and her former partner, now supervisor and Fiancé, Agent Finn Collins had found other sources that claimed the same thing. They had also found some vague evidence that these anonymous claims were correct. However, they hadn't been able to find the missing money, they hadn't been able to figure out how exactly the money was being whitewashed, and they weren't entirely sure who was involved besides the company CEO, Alexandria Evergreen, also known as Lexa.
Now, the logical next step was for someone to infiltrate the company and go undercover so they could find the hard evidence they needed to lock those money launderers and embezzlers away.
"Your new name will be Clarke Grinfield. We have already updated your last name on all your social media so that you have a believable online presence and history," Chief Pike continues.
"I am keeping my first name? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of going undercover?" Agent Griffin interjects before Pike can continue.
"No, it will be more natural for you to react to your actual first name if you are being addressed by anyone and we cannot expect all of your friends and family on social media to start using a new name all of the sudden. Besides, we would have to delete all traces and mentions of your actual first name if we gave you a new one on this mission as well. Something could easily slip through the cracks."
Clarke nods understandingly, and Pike continues, "You will be working as the CEO's personal assistant. The job shouldn't be too hard. Well, you'll have to work hard, but it won't be complicated."
"How can we be sure I get the job if several people are interviewing for it?" Clarke asks.
"Agent Reyes has intercepted all applications that seemed even remotely promising. If the applicant seemed competent, Reyes made sure their information never reached Trikru," Pike responds.
Clarke looks to her left where Raven Reyes, a beautiful Latina woman is already grinning back at her while she pauses her typing on the laptop she brought into the meeting room.
Raven had been a massive help in investigating Trikru Inc. thus far since she possessed a very useful set of... skills. A set of skills that landed her in prison for a few weeks after she had hacked into the FBI security systems. And somewhat ironically, the FBI had gotten her out of prison soon after being caught, offering her a job with them. A job where she could legally use her hacking skills.
She hadn't been able to fully get past the firewall of Trikru Inc.'s systems though since someone working there actually set up a very strong protection, so inside access would be very helpful. And it was difficult for Raven to find specific information when she didn't know what exactly she was looking for in the mountains of Trikru related files that she was able to access.
"So, talk to me about the mission," Clarke directs her question back to agent Pike and agent Collins.
"Find out what you can about the when, how, where, and who. We need to know where the money is being kept, we need to know how the money is being laundered, and we need to know who is involved. We are not trying to ruin the lives of innocent people here," Pike explains.
