Once Clarke wakes up from surgery, she still feels dazed and a tad bit confused.
Her leg is held up in that contraption again but this time there are several pins sticking out of it and it's surrounded by some sort of metal cage.
Once she is awake enough to be able to read the small letters on her phone, she grabs it from the little bedside table. It's past 3 PM. Almost visiting hours. And there actually is a reply from Alexandria now.
After the single brief reply, no messages from her favorite brunette follow and if it weren't for the fog the painkillers and anesthesia are leaving in her brain, Clarke most definitely would have been able to figure out why Lexa was acting like this. Because surely this isn't normal behavior when a person you love is in the hospital after a major accident, right?
Throughout the next hour, Clarke falls in and out of consciousness as the medicine she's been given is slowly starting to wear off and her leg and stomach are starting to hurt more and more.
Nothing.
So, when visiting hours are almost at their ending, Clarke texts Anya instead.
True to her word, Anya shows up a little past 5 PM, and she smiles brightly at the blonde as she comes in.
"Cool cage," she says brightly, pointing at Clarke's leg.
