─────── ☼ ───────The last few weeks had been stressful for Taylor, dealing with the copious amount of not only legal troubles Joe had caused but the uproar in the media. She always knew it would spark discussion which is one of the reasons she kept Colette private in the first place and despite the shock, she was lucky that her fans were genuinely super supportive. She would often see things on instagram that would be hateful and her swifties had got there and called them out before Taylor could, not that she would but hypothetically if she was going to there would be no need with the quick reactions of fans. However unfortunately being Taylor Swift, meant that it didn't come without a serious amount of backlash and no matter how hard Taylor tried to ignore it, it was getting to her. She hated being bashed as a parent, no one knew quite the lengths she would go to for Colette and her safety. Well, no one really knew her parenting abilities at all, so she knew it was silly to be affected by peoples' idiotic comments but they hurt her, no matter how far from the truth they were.
The legal side of this situation though, had only really started a couple of days ago. Joe had decided that what he'd done so far wasn't quite satisfactory for him and has had to take it one step beyond. That one step meaning he's now sued Taylor for custody of Colette. This infuriated Taylor, she knew he didn't want his daughter permanently, he just wanted to see Taylor suffer and that was the worst of it. Yet unfortunately, when a statement like his gets put out, there's no option but to take it to court and if that meant Joe would be free from their lives forever, Taylor would do it. It was definitely going to be a struggle, but she isn't going to back down until she was walking out that court room with full custody of her daughter, no matter what crazy accusations Joe or his attorney threw at her. Like most court dates though, there was a waiting list, and their scheduled date would be March 2024 if all goes well. It was only September now, this was going to be a prolonged battle.
Although, not everything in life was completely grey for Taylor, her and Travis were perfect and she couldn't be more grateful for the endless support he'd given her so far. He promised he'd be by her side throughout all of this, no matter what and she couldn't help but fall in love with him a little bit more everyday. And as for Colette, well it was miraculous how oblivious children could be but it was something Taylor immensely appreciated at this time, Colette was just still her usually bubbly and cheeky self, not knowing the struggles that her mother was enduring to keep her safe, she just kept a smile on Taylor's face.
The family were back in Nashville currently, as Taylor had a couple months off before the South American part of her tour. Travis however was in Kansas city, with the new season starting. It pained them to have to separate but thankfully Taylor and Colette had been kindly invited to Kansas City at the end of the week. Taylor really wanted to watch Travis play in action but she couldn't take Colette, despite the whole world knowing now, her thoughts of not wanting to publish her child everywhere still remained exactly the same and she knew that because her and Travis had not announced anything exclusive about their relationship, Taylor attending would cause people to go crazy with a lot of press and she did not want Colette involved in that. And due to her lack of nanny, she couldn't have anyone watch her daughter whilst she was there so unfortunately she would have to pass on the invitation of watching in person but they'd definitely be cheering him on from home.
" momma, I'm bored " Colette whined, and Taylor didn't blame her, they'd barely left the house since the tour had ended
" aw what do you wanna do? " Taylor coos at her 4 year old hanging onto her legs and looking directly into her mothers eyes
