─────── ☼ ───────" hey Tree, what's going on? " Taylor answered the phone, she was scared, scared for the out come of this conversation.
" hi Taylor, I'm so sorry to have to tell you this but it's Joe. He's sold pictures to the media Taylor and they aren't just any pictures, these are extremely personal pictures " tree begins, Taylor felt her whole heart sink to her abdomen, tears spilling from her eyes, she took a deep breathe which immediately alarmed Travis, but he wasn't going to interrupt right now
" w-what sort of pictures? " Taylor could barely talk, out of everything. This was her biggest fear
" I'm so so sorry Taylor, but there's one of you and Joe whilst you were pregnant, one of you and Colette in the hospital when she was first born, one of Colette on her 4th birthday. Joe has sold a statement to them saying that you are restricting him of any rights to see his daughter " Taylor couldn't breathe, she couldn't get any air into her lungs. Her breathes were so short and quick she couldn't hold it together, Joe had just revealed Taylor's whole entire life to the media, for anyone and everyone to look at. He went against everything they both had agreed on for Colette and despite his desperation to hide from fame, he'd just thrown his daughter right into it. And that was something Taylor will never ever forgive him for. " Taylor, I know this is hard, but I need you to take a few deep breathes for me so I can discuss how to handle this, I know honey, I know. Just bare with me, okay? " Tree knew how important Colette's privacy was and she was also just as infuriated.
" h-her name? Do they know her name " Taylor asked, her child's identity had been sold to the media by her own father and she couldn't even begin to think of the backlash she was about to get from the false statement
" not that I can see, but honey, how do you want to go about this, I know it's a lot to take in, but do you want to put out a statement, stay quiet or what? " tree asked softly, Travis was still oblivious to everything, he just saw Taylor break down in front of him so obviously he was concerned but he feared asking her anything until she felt like telling him
" I don't know what to do. Fuck I never wanted to do any of these options, I was supposed to keep her safe, and I failed Tree, I failed her. What do I do? " she rambled, tears escaping her eyes, she was so upset, so angry, god she was extremely angry but her little girl was now known to the whole world and there was absolutely nothing that could change that.
" Taylor, this is NOT your fault. You have done everything you possibly can to keep that little girl of yours safe okay? You have not failed her, Joe has failed her and we have to make it right, for the sake of her. If you want my advice, own it. Put a statement out, do not address Joe in any way, make it on your terms. Leave the legal side of this to me, we can make him pay for this Taylor, regardless if it's his daughter or not. But at the end of the day, you owe your fans this explanation, and you don't have to go into any depth and you don't even have to show her face " tree advised as Taylor took it all in.
Tree ended the call and Taylor collapsed into Travis' arms, him applying as much comfort to her as he could still without knowing what was going on. And after the tears had settled down, Taylor explained, evoking more tears to erupt from her eyes. Travis was angry, he couldn't believe this guy had done this to his own blood, his own daughter, out of spite for Taylor? Wrongful spite. Taylor had done nothing wrong but protect herself and her child, and he just couldn't fathom that he was the problem. Travis would never truly understand Joe, in fact, he never truly wanted to try, but it saddened him how he was so horrible to the people he once loved, the people he was supposed to take care of a nurture, if not Taylor then his own daughter at least. But he never did. He would do this instead.
