─────── ☼ ───────A month had passed since the accident and both Travis and Rosalie had recovered pretty quickly, it hadn't taken them long, after they got discharged, Travis' head healed, only leaving him with a small scar that was hardly noticeable. Rosie was a dream baby, only crying when she was hungry and only waking up twice through the night most nights. But it's never that easy when you have 4 children; the twins woke up enough in the night for the whole family. Since Noah started climbing out of his crib, there was no stopping him, he would wake up Knox and then both of them were trying to play at ridiculous hours of the night. Travis had suggested giving them separate rooms and transitioning Noah into a toddler bed, so he couldn't climb out and then wake up his brother, but that was to no avail. Instead, he just came in Taylor and Travis's room, shouting and yelling, waking up the baby. He was turning out to be quite the terror and Taylor was dreading when he hit terrible twos. It was exhausting the whole family, and they seemed to have no idea how to keep Noah in his bed all night.
Last night had been a pretty rough example of his new reckless behaviour and when Taylor woke up to get Colette ready for school she felt as though she hadn't slept at all. Firstly, she had to move Noah's feet from where they were pressed against her head, they'd given in last night and figured the only way anyone was going to get some sleep was by letting him sleep in with them. She slipped into her robe, preparing herself a cup of coffee to try and wake her up more. As it brewed, she woke Colette up, who was equally quite tired – Travis had practice all day today so it was a morning of solo parenting for Taylor. Knox woke up soon after, grouchy as well, crying and wanting Taylor to hold him, and she did, until the baby woke up.
" Knox buddy, mommy has to go a get your sister and feed her, I can't carry you all the time " Taylor told him firmly but calmly, and she left the weeping toddler in a heap on the kitchen floor, letting his tantrum run it's course whilst she went and got Rosie, who smiled when she saw her mom standing over her bassinet. " morning my smiley girl, you ready for some milk huh? " Taylor picked her up, latching her on and heading downstairs to resume packing Colette lunchbox for the day – one handed this time.
" momma! " she sighed as she heard Noah's voice from upstairs, as much as she loved him, he was the last person she wanted to see today, especially after last night.
" come down here Noah, mommy is busy " Taylor yelled up to him, and she could hear him pad his way down the stairs – another new skill he had learnt recently.
When the toddler walked in, he was giggling, oblivious to the horrible moods he had left everyone in this morning. Taylor got them breakfast, hurrying them along as she noticed they were close to being late for school. Colette whined the whole drive, claiming how she didn't want to go, but Taylor quite honestly needed the break from all of her children, they were sending her into a midlife crisis. Thankfully, she was meeting up with Blake for lunch, leaving the boys with Anna for a couple of hours, only taking Rosie with her, but that was no bother.
" Noah, listen to mommy, you got to stay in your new big boy bed at night time, you cannot wake up you brother and you cannot wake up mommy, daddy and the baby, it's not okay. We are so tired " Taylor scolded the toddler as she was driving, looking into the mirror and seeing him smiling from his car seat. He may only be 22 months old, but he understood what she was telling him.
" no no no Noah " Knox babbled to him.
" yes, no no no. It's making mommy and daddy sad " she carried on, hoping it would make the toddler feel a slight bit of guilt but no. Instead, he just giggled, and Taylor soon realised this wasn't going to be an easy fix.
