If you would've told Taylor 5 weeks ago that she'd still be pregnant 5 weeks later, she would've laughed in your face. All of her babies had been early, quite a bit early actually. Not once in pregnancy had she made it past 37 weeks before and now she was kind off glad. She'd decided being 40 weeks pregnant wasn't for the weak, and it seemed as though no matter what they did, she was still pregnant. Although, maybe it was her own fault, her baby clearly inheriting her stubbornness, as her doctor had offered for them to book an induction 4 days from now, but Taylor kindly declined, wanting to go into labour naturally, but she was definitely regretting that now.
" why won't she come out already!! " Taylor whined, throwing her head back on the couch, feeling yet another braxton hick. All 3 children were asleep and so Taylor and Travis had ordered take out – some spicy food in the hope it would move things along – and now they were watching a movie. Travis couldn't help but slightly chuckle at Taylor's antics, they'd both been trying so hard, and it was almost as if their baby girl was trying to humour them and just not cooperate.
" maybe it's your fault for having such a cozy uterus " Travis smirked causing Taylor to roll her eyes.
" don't judge my uterus thank you very much! And maybe it's your fault for having such a big head that she's too scared to come out in case she gets stuck! " Taylor teased, but she wasn't really being sarcastic. At their most recent appointment, they'd had some measurements taken, and baby girl was already measuring at 8lbs, which was on the cusp of being a rather heavy baby and Taylor could only blame that on Travis for being such a heavy baby and passing those genes on, definitely nothing to do with the fact that she was 5,11 and very tall herself.
" I wasn't judging it, I was complementing it. There's nothing wrong with being cozy " he declared
" just don't say anything about it, leave me and my uterus alone, make yourself useful and grab me the tub of ice cream " Taylor demanded, as Travis laughed but knew better than to say no.
" hey I have a great idea " Travis grinned, handing Taylor a tub of mint choc chip ice cream with a spoon
" nothing's a great idea if it's coming from you " Taylor mocked, digging into her ice cream
" actually you're wrong and because you said that I'm not telling you now! " he said, pretending to be mad, but he was just messing around really.
" okay Albert Einstein, keep your ideas to yourself " was the reply he received as well as Taylor sticking out her tongue at him.
Taylor consumed mostly the whole tub of ice cream, maybe the consumption of a large quantity of cold food would annoy the baby and force her to come out – it was wishful thinking. And it just left Taylor reaching for some heartburn tablets at 12am, after not really getting any sleep and just being extremely uncomfortable and irritated.
" girl can you make your mind up if you want to come out or not. I mean, I'd prefer if you did but can you stop pretending like you are and then not " Taylor told her stomach, padding her way into the bathroom " woah! I mean, that's one way to tell me I guess " stunned, she looked down at the floor, a small puddle beginning to form, her pyjama shorts now drenched but Taylor couldn't help but smile, so relieved this was finally happening and what a coincidence her water decided to break right on cue.
