─────── ☼ ───────The fresh summer sun was slowly making it's way through Taylor and Travis's bedroom window which overlooked their backyard. Taylor knew it was still early as she stared right into the light, the sun only recently starting to rise for the day. She, however, couldn't sleep. There was this dull ache that had embraced itself around her whole body for the past few hours, which was nothing out of the ordinary when you are 35 weeks pregnant with twins but it didn't make it any less annoying as it was disturbing Taylor's sleep schedule not that she got much sleep these days anyway. She looked over at Travis on the other side of the bed, his back facing her as he snored sweetly, she remembered why he was so far away, after she had swatted his hand away in the night after he placed it on her stomach, usually she wouldn't mind, but she was overly hot last night, and the pressure of his hand only woke the babies up. She sighed, realising she probably wasn't going to get anymore sleep, as she pulled herself up out of bed and made her way into the babies' nursery. They'd recently finished it not too long ago and Taylor was obsessed, she'd spend every minute in there if she could. The room was painted a muted colour of sage green with varied sized leaves painted around it randomly. Soft accents of safari animals dotted around to tie it together, everything Taylor had imagined from her Pinterest board really. Both cribs were situated adjacent to each other on the back wall, and each one of their names was hanging above the corresponding crib. Taylor smiled as she looked at the names, they were so happy with the ones they picked out and although they weren't entirely sure which twin would have which name until they arrived, they had a rough idea.
Taylor lowered herself to the floor, sitting down as she brought the hospital bag, they had packed not too long ago, onto her lap. She went through it again, double checking they hadn't forgotten anything, she wasn't sure if she was actually paranoid or she just loved seeing all the teeny tiny newborn clothes and accessories. Although she had a newborn before, you really do forget how tiny they first are, especially this time too as they'd heard that twins can often be on the smaller side and only fit preemie clothes which they had made sure to pack a few versions of.
" mommy? whatcha doin? " Colette whispered as she saw her mother on the floor. Taylor hadn't even noticed the time gone by, now it was 7:30am.
" mommy is just doing a little sorting baby, how did you sleep? " Taylor asks, opening her arms to which Colette came and sat right in her lap. Well as easily as she could. Taylor's stomach was rather large now.
" good! can we go in the pool today mommy?? " Colette was so desperate to use their pool and have a proper pool day.
" I'm not sure sweet girl, travy is working and mommy doesn't really feel up to swimming, and you're too little to go in alone " Taylor explains, as Colette pouts
" can I have a pool party for my birthday?? " she said, excitement present in her eyes
" I don't see why not baby, that would be fun " Colette's 5th birthday was coming up in just 8 days, and Taylor couldn't believe how the time had gone.
The mother and daughter made their way downstairs, enjoying some breakfast whilst Travis slept. Taylor didn't dare wake him, he'd been so tired recently and he had a podcast to record this morning, she didn't want him to be tired whilst he did it. Although, as the morning was getting later, she decided she might have to wake him, he was sleeping good. So she made him a coffee, and took it upstairs, placing it next to his side of the bed on the night stand. He woke up from his slumber, enjoying this sight of his pregnant girlfriend, who he shot a soft smile at, taking a sip of his coffee.
