As Travis dipped in and out of consciousness a lot could be heard running through his head: the gut wrenching screams of his newborn and the distant sirens of some sort of help. His eyes fluttered open, shooting pain circling all around his body, but the only thing he could think about was Rosalie, their 4 day old baby, who he was supposed to be taking care of and yet here they were. Taylor was never going to forgive him for this.

" R-Rosie? " Travis called out, his voice hoarse but full of panic, he knew she was alive, he could hear her screams, but he didn't know how badly she'd gotten hurt.

He fumbled with his seatbelt, trying to unbuckle it, but to no avail, it was locked, of course it would've locked, otherwise he'd be halfway through his windscreen. He held his hand to his head, looking down at it and seeing some blood. Fortunately, the once distant sirens were now approaching closer, and in the corner of his eye he could see people rushing over, it hurt to move his neck, but he needed to know his baby was okay.

" hello sir, can you tell me your name? ". An emt ran over, pulling his door open, checking to see if his pupils responded which they very much did, his eyes scrunching at the bright light.

" t-travis...but please, help my baby " he pleaded, not caring if he died right here, as long as Rosie was safe.

" it's okay travis, my colleague is getting her out, but she's crying, so she's alert, do you remember what happened? " they asked, assessing travis' injuries

" she was crying, I went to look at her and a car was coming right towards us " Travis explained, he could remember everything that happened.

" okay great. Whereabouts are you feeling pain? "

" well everywhere aches, but I don't think I got badly injured, maybe a little gash on my head or something but please, I just want my baby to be okay, she's only 4 days old " the emt nodded, applying some pressure to the wound on Travis's forehead.

" Hayley how's the baby? " they asked their colleague who was assessing the baby

" she's good. I think mostly shaken up, I see no apparent injuries, obviously we'll do some checks at the hospital but other than that she's okay " the second emt called back, cradling the baby in her arms as Travis let out a sigh of relief. Rosie was okay.

Travis got loaded into the ambulance, being able to hold Rosie for the whole ride, he didn't ever want to let her go, he felt so guilty, he would've never forgiven himself if anything happened to her. She'd stopped crying for the most part, but he was sure she probably wanted her mommy, which speaking of, Travis had no idea whether Taylor had been called or anything yet, he knew she'd probably be so worried.

Taylor had just been getting ready for the day, waiting for Travis to get home with the yogurt she sent him to get, she'd noticed he was taking a little longer, but she didn't panic yet. He probably got caught up in traffic or the store was busy or something like that. Taylor was so grateful for Travis, taking all 4 kids this morning, she really did feel rather well rested and she knew she needed that sleep.

It wasn't till her phone rang that she began to feel a little bit worried, a random number that she almost didn't answer, but she was glad she did. Her heart stopping immediately.
