Today was Colette's 5th birthday and the family had settled into their new life very quickly after bringing the twins home. It definitely hadn't been easy, Taylor and Travis were still getting used to the complete lack of sleep and trying to juggle two babies at once. It definitely helped that they had each other and surprisingly Colette tried to be as helpful as she could, always fetching a clean diaper or a packet of wipes or a burp cloth if Taylor or Travis needed it. She was a great big sister and was keen to get involved when she could. But ultimately, she was overly excited for today. Her Finding Nemo pool party. Travis had deemed Taylor as superwoman, as she had managed to plan a whole birthday party whilst taking care of two newborns and a now 5 year old.

Taylor, couldn't believe her baby girl was 5, her life really had flashed before her eyes and she was struggling to come to terms with it. Last night, between clearing up baby spit up and dirty diapers, the couple had set up the majority of her presents with pink and purple balloons scattered around that Meredith, Olivia and Benjamin had all taken a big interest in. They hadn't gone overboard with gifts, but Colette also deserved to be a little bit spoilt, she had a tough year from everything that had happened with Joe and then she recently just had to welcome two new babies into her home and Taylor and Travis couldn't be more proud of how she handled it. Like buying gifts for any child though, they are usually quite satisfied with toys which often weren't even particularly expensive, Taylor had gotten Colette a new floaty for the pool that she could use today, a few small bits of clothing that she knew she would like, other various toys that Colette would be interested in as well.

" mommy!! Daddy!! " Colette whisper squealed, cautious not to wake the boys up but also overly excited as she knew what the day was

Taylor and Travis stirred from under the covers, as they were immediately met with Colette's bright grin as she crawled into the bed. Despite them feeling exhausted from the long night with the twins, they couldn't let her day be wasted.

" oh my big 5 year old, happy birthday " Taylor said, pulling Colette into her arms and tickling her causing her to giggle

" s-stop mommy that tickles!! " she laughs, unable to catch her breath properly

" happy birthday coco, you are so big now!! " Travis told her, placing a kiss on her forehead as he pulled both Taylor and Colette into him

" that's not true daddy, I'm the same size " she protested, baffled at Travis' words, he just chuckled at how adorable she was. " baby brothers are tired on my birthday? " she blinked, as she looked at the bassinets on Taylor's side of the bed. The twins were a week old tomorrow

" the little monsters were up a lot last night, obviously excited that it's their big sister's birthday " Travis told her, as she wiggled with excitement

Before long, Taylor slipped into a robe and Travis turned the baby monitor on so they could keep an eye on the twins whilst they were downstairs. Colette screamed when she saw the set up, dancing around in the balloons that were hogging the living room floor.

" coco, you know the rules for birthdays, full tummy first and then presents. Come on, you get to decide breakfast! " Taylor reminded her, ushering her into the kitchen

Colette chose Taylor's homemade cinnamon buns with strawberries and apple juice for breakfast, so whilst Taylor made that she had a small assistant helping her and that was Colette. Travis was already beginning to start setting up for the party later today, making sure his grill outside was working properly and that the pool was functioning as it should. All the boring jobs really. Taylor had the fun job of decorating and baking treats.
