Scared to love

Chloë's POV

It's been a few days since Jake and I did the 7 minutes in heaven and yet I can't stop thinking about it. It felt weird when he didn't know how to respond when you compare it to his usual confidence. He really changed a lot since the last time I saw him. I used to have some kind of feelings for him but since we went to different colleges, I don't really think about him anymore. When I saw him again that night the memories of the feelings came back and it was a little difficult for me when our faces were so close. 

During the weekend, Alice and I were shopping in the city when we see Jake and Dakota walking. "Oohh who's the hottie next to Jake?", Alice asks me. "That's Dakota, one of his other friends from highschool", I respond. "He's cute, come let's go talk to them", she exclaims while dragging me in their direction. "Maybe we shouldn't bothe-" "Hey Jake!", she says, ignoring me. "Oh uh hey Alice and Chloë", he responds. "Uh this is my friend Dakota from highschool. Dakota, you remember Chloë and her friend Alice , we met last week", Jake introduces us. Alice immediately starts a conversation with Dakota, leaving Jake and me alone. "Hey so I wanted to tell you that Alex talked about you to Dakota", Jake suddenly says when we are following Alice and Dakota. "Really? Do you maybe know what he said?", I ask. "Dakota said that Alex was telling him about you looking good without a shirt on or something like that", he responds. "I just wanted you to know just in case it would ever come up or something", he adds. "Oh uh yeah, thanks for telling me", I answer. 

After walking for some time we arrive at a small and quiet restaurant. "Why don't we grab some dinner since we're already here? ", Dakota proposes. "Yes we should definitely do that", Alice says. "I could eat something", I respond. We all look at Jake waiting for his response but he just walks inside and asks for a table for 4 people. We follow him inside and go to the table that the waitress pointed us to. Dakota and Alice sit in front of each other so Jake and I sit in front of each other. While looking at the menu I hear Alice murmer constantly. "You okay Alice?", I ask her. "Yeah I just can't decide between two things. Do you know what you're getting?", she responds. "Yeah I think I'm going to get the spaghetti with chicken." "Oh that was one of my choices. Can I order the other one and then have some of yours?", she asks with hopefull eyes. "Yeah sure, why not?", I respond.  We place our order when the waitress comes and while waiting for our food, we are having some small talk.

When our food comes I share mine with Alice and she lets me have a taste of hers. We both agree that the pasta that I chose is really good. "Can I try some of yours?", Jake asks me. "Yeah sure go ahead", I answer. I slide my plate closer to him so that it is easier for him to take some. "Mhh indeed tastes good", he says before he slides his plate in my direction so that I can have some of his food. In the end we all end up sharing our food because we all like the other dishes too.  After we pay for our food we get out of the restaurant and we walk to a park. We arrive in the park and find a nice place to sit down and talk even more. We've been talking for so long that it's getting darker and colder. I notice that Alice keeps leaning closer towards Dakota, which he doesn't seem to mind so much. "This is nice, we should do this more often", Alice suddenly says. "Sitting in a park while it's getting dark?", Jake questions. "No silly. I meant just the four of us talking and meeting up", Alice reacts. "Oh yeah, you're right, it's fun with the four of us. Maybe we should create a groupchat so that it is easier to talk to each other?", Jake proposes. We agree and all give our contact info to the others and Jake makes a group chat. Not long after that we part ways and go home.
