We watch her walk towards her bedroom and my heart breaks again. It's so obvious that she tries to be strong but I know that she's very hurt. "We'll help her get through this", Matthew says when he sees my worried face. "She's stronger than you think", he adds. I nod but my head spins with worries. Matthew and I go to bed about an hour after Chloë but I can't stop feeling bad for her. I hear noise coming from the room on the left of mine, which is Chloë's. I leave my room after changing my clothes and listen at her door. Something in me tells me that she's having a nightmare so I open the door and enter her room. She's tossing and turning around in her bed while mumbling. I go sit on the edge of her bed and stroke her hair. There is a frown on her face and because I'm so close I can make some of the words she's mumbling out. "No, no, don't." She turns around again and again but suddenly, she scares the crap out of me. She sits up straight and breathes heavy, but I'm not sure if she's awake or still sleeping.
"Angel? Are you awake or not?", I whisper. It seems to be me who scares her now because she turns her light on. "How long have you been here?", she asks. "Only a few minutes. I heard a lot of noise from your room when I got ready to go sleep so I came in to check if you were alright but I guess you were having a nightmare or something like that", I explain. "Oh sorry I didn't mean to disturb you", she responds. "It's fine, you weren't doing it on purpose", I answer. "Are you sure you're going to be okay tonight?", I ask her before leaving her room. "I'm not sure", she responds with a sigh. "Do you want me to stay?", I propose. She looks like she's debating it but nods after some time. She opens her covers and I get underneath them. "Thanks Jake", she says before turning the light off again. "Anything for you", I reply. She turns her back to me so I decide to give her a back hug. I wrap my arm around her waist and I notice that she scoots closer to me. We fall asleep like that and it the best sleep I've had in a long time.
An alarm makes us get up from our peaceful slumber. She stretches and nuzzles her head back in my neck after stopping the alarm. She's laying almost completly on top of me and my hands are both wrapped around her as to keep her in place. She doesn't seem to mind and I hear her almost fall asleep again. "Jake? Chloë? You guys are you still here?", we hear Matthew in the apartment. He knocks on the door and enters the room. When he sees us in the bed he takes out his phone while smirking and takes pictures. I wave at him to go away but he just sticks out his tongue and keeps taking pictures. I feel Chloë move again and she starts groaning. Her eyes suddenly pop open and she looks me in the eyes. Aware of our position, she sits up but now she's straddling my lap, which is worse than our first position. I don't dare move as she looks between me and Matthew who is still taking pictures, as she might feel my current boner, but I do put my hands on her thighs to prevent her from moving more.
"I'm so sorry to disturb your peaceful sleepover, but we have a problem", Matthew says. "What now?", Chloë asks, looking so done with everything. "We need to go buy suitcases", Matthew states. "Suitcases? You're looking for us at 8 in the morning to talk about suitcases?", I ask him. "Well since we're leaving to go to Spain in a few days, we should start packing and we can't pack if we don't have suitcases", Matthew dramatically says. "We'll go buy some later today", Chloë says as she waves him out of her room. "Don't get too comfy here", Matthew winks at us before leaving. Chloë's hands are on my stomach and she looks confused at her door. "What does that mean?", she ask with a frown. I look down to take in how she's sitting and when she notices it she starts blushing like crazy. She quickly tries to get off of me while I tell her it's fine. "No I made it look like I was going to take advantage of you", she sulks. "Chloë I told you it's fine, I didn't even think about that", I reply. "Are you sure?", she asks with a pouty face. "Yes I'm sure", I answer. It will be better if she doesn't know what I was really thinking about, because then she might label me as crazy and it would be the end of our friendship.
