When she enters the apartment, she looks exhausted and yet she smiles when she sees us. We inform her about the food in the microwave and she thanks us. "I've got something for us too", she says as she takes two bags out of her large bag. "One is a bread and the other is filled with different kinds of pastries since I didn't know what you guys like", she says as she lifts up the bags to indicate which one is which. "You're an angel", I say as I take the bags from her so that she can eat. Before I put the bag with the pastries away, I take a peek inside and see some delicious things in it. "This will taste great", I say while closing the bag again and putting it away. "I hope so", she says. She asks Matthew if the moving in yesterday went well. "Yeah it went pretty great, thanks again for lending me your car" he responds. "That's great, no problem", she responds. She finishes eating and announces that she's going to take a nap in her room so that she has some sleep today.
Matthew let me choose what room I wanted since I arrived first and when I told him which one I wanted, he told me that he had hoped that I would pick that one since he prefers the other room. We put most of our stuff in our rooms yesterday after I helped him get the other boxes in our home and today we're just finishing our rooms by decorating them a little bit. "I saw Chloë's schedule on the fridge", Matthew suddenly says when we're both sitting on the couch. "Yeah what about it?", I ask, not sure what's wrong with it. "Well first of all, she works too damn much. Secondly, I was thinking when I saw it and why don't we get like some sort of whitebord with a monthly planner on so that all of us can write important things down? It could be useful to know what everybody is up to", he proposes. "Yeah that's actually not a bad idea", I reply. "You know what? I'll make a list with things like that so that the next time we go to a store, we will remember to look for it", I say. "Great idea, maybe put a washer and a dryer on it too", he responds. "Ah yes almost forgot about that. Anything else or is that it for now?", I ask. "I can't really think about something else but maybe C knows something? We should ask her when she wakes up", he says.
Right on that moment her bedroom door opens and she comes out with messy hair while rubbing her eyes and yawning. "Actually maybe a new couch would be nice too", Matthew says as he looks at a random stain in disgust. I nod and add it to the list while Chloë walks over to us. "What are you guys doing?", she asks when she sees me write. "We're making a list with things that might be useful for all of us", I respond to her. She nods and I see that she's thinking about something. "Maybe we should put towels on there", she says. Both Matthew and I look at her. "I mean I have some towels but they're old and have holes", she admits when she sees us looking at her. "Kitchen towels I mean. Well I don't know, maybe bathroom towels too, I could use new ones too", she mumbels. "Shit that's what I forgot, towels", Matthew says with a pale face. "Didn't you shower this morning?", Chloë asks. "Uh well no not yet", he admits. "Why don't I get ready and then we can go to the store to get some of the stuff", she proposes as she looks Matthew up and down. "Good idea", I say as I put both kitchen and bathroom towels on the list. I also add sheets for myself and 'kitchen stuff' to referce plates, cups and more like that.
We get out of my car once we arrive at the store and Chloë takes a cart. We start at the back of the store and make our way to the front. We stop in the aisle with the sheets and we all take a look at them. After some time all of us have decided and we put everything in the cart. I cross it from the list and we go to our next stop. Chloë looks like she entered heaven when we get to the bathroom towels. "God these are so soft I love them!", she exclaims as she touches some. We laugh at that and each one of us pick a color so that we know which towels belong to who. After that we get kitchen towels and extra plates, cups and so on. On our way to the front we see some different types of monthly planners so we discuss which one we like the most and grab that one. It's almost an hour later when we finally get out of the store and put all of it in the trunk of my car.
