I get out of the pool and decide to try and relax in the jacuzzi. Not long after, Jake joins me. He doesn't say anything, he just looks at me. "You don't look like her", he states after a while. I had closed my eyes and put my head back, but his words make my eyes pop open. "What?", I ask. "I said that you don't look like her", he repeats himself. "Sadly I'm more like my parents than you could guess", I reply. "That might be true, yet I'm just saying that you're not a copy of your mother", he shrugs. "Good to know", I respond. The other boys also get in the jacuzzi some time later and together with Jake they talk about all different things. "How are you feeling now? You know after the whole Alice thing?", Matthew asks Dakota. "A little sad, mostly relieved in some way", Dakota says with a frown on his face. "I think I was so caught up with her lately that I forgot how it used to be without her", he continues. "Yeah I can imagine", Matthew responds.
I get out of the jacuzzi a while later to go to bed. "See you guys in the morning", I say before walking away. The guys wave goodbye and I leave them outside. Upstairs I get myself ready for bed and take Mister Snuggles in my arms, or at least I try to. Just when I start drifting away, the door opens and closes as silent as possible again. A few minutes later, the bed behind me sinks in and an arm wraps around me. "I wish I could tell you how pretty you looked today", Jake whispers, not knowing I'm not asleep yet. I start blushing and fall asleep while his words linger in my mind. I wake up in the morning and notice that Mister Snuggles is laying on the floor and Jake is laying on top of me again. His head is buried in my neck and the way he's holding me reminds me of the time I slept at his house after Dakota's birthday. I feel Jake moving but I lay still underneath him. "Oh God I'm sorry", he says when he sees the way he's draped over me. I can't help but laugh when he tries to get off of me quickly. "Hope I was a good pillow for you", I joke. His cheeks and ears turn red because of my words.
He runs to the bathroom, leaving me in the bed which confuses me a little bit. Why is he acting so strange? I think back to yesterday. I remember him getting out of the pool, looking so fine. I've seen him without a shirt before, I've seen him with wet hair before and I've seen him with glasses pushing his hair back before, yet I couldn't keep my eyes away from him when I noticed the combination of the three. The grip this man has me in is way bigger than I'll ever dare to admit to him, or to anyone for that matter. I'm still in the bed when he returns from the bathroom looking relieved. "You uh you can use the bathroom now", he says before leaving the room. I get ready quickly and go downstairs to grab some breakfast. "So what are the plans today?", Dakota asks. "Can we like just spend the day here?", Matthew asks. "Yeah I'm fine with that. What about you guys?", Dakota asks. "Doesn't really matter to me", Jake shrugs. "I could enjoy a day doing nothing", I say. "Well then it's decided, we're staying home", Matthew states.
Since we're staying the day home I go upstairs, put on a bikini, suncreen, take a book and go outside. I take the sunscreen outside with me just in case. I also make sure to take something to drink with me before leaving the kitchen. I go sit down in of the chairs outside and get comfortable before opening my book. I have no idea what the boys are up to, but they're leaving me alone so I'm not really worried. They're grown men anyway, they can take care of themselves for one day, right? "Guys has anyone seen Chloë?", I suddenly hear someone yell inside. "No! Did she leave again?", someone else responds. "Wait I thought I saw her outside?", the third voice says. Suddenly three concerned looking guys are standing next to me. "We thought you left", Jake says. "I've been here the whole time, and I won't be leaving until ths book is finished. Well maybe if I need to go to the bathroom but that's it", I reply. That seems to calm them down and they go back inside, only to come back outside after some time. "Wait guys, we forgot sunscreen", Matthew says. I take the sunscreen from next to me and throw it to him. "You're an angel", he says when he catches it. "Yeah, I've been told so before", I say looking at Jake.
