After working for about four hours, my friend Nidhi asked me if we could have lunch together.

"Hey Meeru, shall we go to lunch? I am very hungry now, please yaar," she said.

I agreed and told her to give me a minute to shut down my computer. We then headed to the canteen for lunch. While we were making our lunch, I realized that my gold bracelet was missing. It was a gift from my papa on my 20th birthday, and I used to wear it every day. I had never lost it in the three years since. Its loss made me feel like I had lost everything.

We searched everywhere in the office to find it, but we couldn't locate it. I felt helpless and tears started to roll down my cheeks. I knew that if my mother found out, she would definitely scold me, so I couldn't inform her about it. I also scolded myself for my negligence and kept thinking about how my day was going poorly. As a result, I spent the evening feeling sad.

Nidhi accompanied me to the washroom to make me feel better, and I cried my heart out. After some time, I composed myself, washed my face, and returned to my desk. Although I started working, I couldn't stop thinking about my bracelet. It was around 6 in the evening when I left the office and started walking on the street while listening to music to calm myself down.

However, today even the busy and well-lit streets and roads couldn't cheer me up. After walking for about 20 minutes, I reached my apartment. I freshened up and went straight to bed because I didn't feel like eating anything after losing my bracelet.

AUTHOR POV:

After that day, she spent around 2-3 days feeling sad, but with time she accepted what had happened. However, she didn't know that the bracelet was the reason for a big turning point in her life. She didn't know that something big was waiting for her in the future.

It had been a week since that day, and Meera was at her office when her chief came in and said that their office had been taken over by someone else. She was shocked when she heard this because she knew that their company was looking for some investors, but she never thought that they would sell their company so easily and early to someone like this.

MEERA POV:

When I heard that someone had taken over our company, I was shocked. I started thinking about what would happen to our jobs. What if they fired us? With these thoughts in mind, I left the office and went back to my apartment.

After completing my work in my room, I went to the hall and sat on the couch to watch my favourite shows. While I was deeply enjoying my shows, my phone, which was on the front tea table, started ringing. Due to my focus on the show, I didn't look at the screen and picked up the call.

I said, "Hello, who is this?''

But there was no response from the other side of the call. Then, in irritation,

I asked again, "Who is this?"

But once again, there was no answer. Growing more frustrated,

I asked, "Who the hell are you? Don't joke around with me. I don't like these kinds of jokes."

Unfortunately, there was still no response, but after five seconds, I heard the sound of someone taking a long breath.

I don't know why, but I suddenly felt a strange sensation while on a phone call. I glanced at my phone screen and saw an unknown number displayed. I had a feeling that something wasn't right, so I quickly ended the call. Then, I began to wonder if someone was playing a prank on me. So I checked the number again, but it was unfamiliar to me. After thinking about it for a while, I became frustrated and decided to ignore it. I then went to have my lunch.

After completing my lunch and all my night routine work, I was about to sleep when my phone, which was near the pillow on the bed, beeped. I checked my phone, thinking if any important message had come. To my surprise, I saw a message from an another unknown number.

I opened it to see who it was from, but then got another shock after reading the message which said,

"Hey,

 sweetheart,.....

goodnight.

Take a good sleep, baby."

I was momentarily unable to process the message, but then I snapped out of it and responded with a question,

"who are you?"

Although the message was seen, there was no response from the other person. Later, when I noticed that the other person was online, I messaged them again in the hope of getting a reply.

"I am asking something, answer me. What do you want?"

But again, there was no response. However, to my surprise, after two minutes, I received another message which made me uneasy after reading it. The message said,

"Orange colour suits you, baby.

You look damn beautiful in that orange Anarkali, sweetheart."

This last message made me shiver, and I felt like I was about to have a heart attack.

I am trying to figure out who this person is. Are they someone I know or a stranger? Could someone be stalking me? I started to panic, but then I realized that I needed to wait before jumping to any conclusions. I need to gather more information about this person before taking any action. In this thought,

I couldn't sleep for two to three hours. Then I forced myself to sleep because I was so irritated. Also, I have to go to the office tomorrow.
