CHAPTER-28. FIRST DAY

In the hall, there is a big glass jhumar in the middle of the ceiling, sparkling with yellow light. This is my favourite thing about the house; I really like jhumars. In the corner of the hall, near the kitchen, there is a small shelf, possibly for pooja. The entire house is painted white, which adds to its gracefulness and gives it a classy look. There are also many luxurious decorative items in the hall, but I can't touch or use them because I can't afford to replace them if they break. I am penniless for it.

I was so lost exploring the house and running here and there while arranging the things that I brought with me. I was so excited that on that day, I totally forgot about my life and enjoyed myself like a child while running around and exploring that whole house.

It was morning when I woke up, because of the disturbance from the sun. I covered my eyes with one hand and rolled onto the bed to avoid it, but it was already morning. My alarm, which I had set the night before going to sleep, started ringing loudly. To stop the alarm, I stretched my hand across the bed and grabbed my phone from the corner, then stopped the alarm. 

After some time, I slowly opened my eyes and looked at the balcony where the sunlight was spreading all around. The freshness of the morning's cool air filled the balcony. I slowly got up and went to the balcony, sliding the glass door open. As I felt the sudden cool air on my face, my lips curved into a peaceful smile.

At that point, I was feeling the new self in me because of this new place, new weather, and new house. After enjoying a fresh morning, I got ready for my new office, booked the cab, and left my home after praying to God Ganesha, whom I placed in the pooja room on the first day in my home.

I was so nervous the whole way in the car, thinking about what would happen and what my work responsibilities would be since I hadn't received any information about my job until now. When I stepped out of the cab in front of a huge building, I noticed the name "Alpha Cooperative" written in capital letters at the top, accompanied by a symbol of two eagle wings. As I entered the office, I approached the reception desk, showed my jioning letter, and informed her that I was a new employee. She directed me to the elevator and told me to go to the 24th floor.

As I entered the 24th floor, I found a hallway in the center, with cabins on both the left and right sides. To the right, there was a waiting area where I noticed some people sitting and waiting. I walked over slowly and settled into one of the seats. After about five minutes, an employee came out of one of the cabins on the right side and told us to come to the meeting hall on the left side while opening the door.

As we were about seven to nine people, we followed her and entered the room. I was shocked as I walked in, looking at how big and pretty the hall was. It was enormous, even larger than my old office meeting room. The design was stylish, featuring a lot of modern technology. The entire space was in gray, with large windows. In the middle of the meeting hall, there was a big table surrounded by chairs and all other items are in black, which gave the room a dangerously royal appearance.

As we settled in, the CEO's assistant came into the hall and introduced himself. After that, he asked us to introduce ourselves. Once we all introduced ourselves, he provided some important details about the company, including its rules and regulations. After this brief introduction, he handed out individual contract papers for us to sign.
