"Kya yeh jo keh rahe hain woh sach hai, Meera?" (What they are saying—is it true, Meera?)

Hearing her, Meera lowered her head while closing her eyes in guilt and shame. Seeing this, Vidya again asked,

"Jawab do mujhe! Kya tum pehle se shaadi shuda ho? Kya tumhari shadi inse pehle se ho rakhi hai?"

(Answer me! Are you already married? Have you been married to him before?)

Hearing her, Maansi looked at Meera and Suryansh in tension and tried to calm Vidya, but Vidya ignored it and again said,
"Batao... kya ye sab sach hai?" (Tell me... is all this true?)

Hearing Vidya's loud voice, Meera nodded while sobbing.

Seeing this, everyone looked at Meera in concern and helplessness, but Suryansh stood there without any expression.

After seeing Meera's response, Vidya stumbled backwards, but Vishal and Maansi both held her and gave her support. Seeing this, Meera tried to defend herself and said,

"Maa, it's not how you are thinking. I was forced into this, Maa..."

Before she could continue, Vidya raised her hand and was about to hit Meera, but before her hand could touch Meera's face, Suryansh held her wrist in the middle.

Everyone was shocked, looking at this with wide eyes, but Meera was shutting her eyes tightly in fear. After a few seconds, when she didn't feel any pain, she opened her eyes and saw Suryansh holding Vidya's hand with a frown, staring at Vidya, while Vidya looked at him with angry, red eyes. For some seconds, the room fell silent, but Suryansh broke this silence by saying:

"Don't dare, Mrs. Sharma. She is my wife and Hukum Rani Sa of Rajasthan. No one has the right to raise a hand on her—I haven't given this right to anyone, not even myself. Woh meri guroor hai, meri izzat hai. Main unpar haath kya, kisi aur ka nazar uthana bhi bardasht nahi hai mujhe. Aap unki maa hain, isiliye chup hoon. Nahi toh anjaam alag hi hota."

(She is my pride, my honour. I can't tolerate anyone even looking at her, let alone raising a hand. You are her mother, that's why I'm silent. Otherwise, the consequences would be different.)

Saying this, he let go of her hand. Seeing his hard expression, Vidya didn't say anything, but Meera couldn't control herself and said:

"Aap iss tarah se meri maa se baat nahi kar sakte. Aur aap soch bhi kaise sakte hain ki main aapse firse shadi karungi? Akele mar jaungi, lekin aise insaan se jo mere parivaar, meri maa ko izzat nahi karta, usse kabhi bhi shadi nahi karungi."

(You can't talk to my mother like this. And how can you even think that I'll marry you again? I'll die alone, but I will never marry a man who doesn't respect my family, my mother.)

Hearing her, Suryansh looked at her and said:

"Woh aapki maa hai, isiliye zinda khadi hai abhi tak. Aur baat izzat ki—toh mujhe aapke alawa kisise matlab nahi hai. Aap shadi karna na bhi chahein dobara, tab bhi main aapko yahan se le kar hi jaunga, chahe jo ho jaye. Main bas aapke aur aapke parivaar ke izzat ke khatir aapse aaj dobara shadi karna chahta tha. Lekin chhodo, lagta hai aapko manzoor nahi hai."

(She is your mother, that's why she's still standing alive. And about respect—I don't care about anyone except you. Even if you don't want to marry me again, I'll still take you from here, no matter what. I just wanted to marry you again today for your and your family's honour. But forget it, it seems you don't need it.)
